Relax in Georgian splendour with large groups of family and friends at Foundry House. This stunning holiday home sits in the heart of a pretty village and is bursting with all the character of its period but full of all the contemporary luxuries required for a relaxing holiday.
Start the day with morning coffee on the patio of the walled garden, perhaps stroll to the local shop for pastries before the rest of the guests emerge. Breakfasts will be a lengthy, communal affair, with the large kitchen dining table covered in bowls of eggs, plates of bacon and platters of fresh fruit and croissants. Take satisfaction in watching the gang gather together - eating, chatting and laughing. There is a wood burning fire to create a cosy atmosphere on chilly days.
The fabulous kitchen has everything guests need to prepare scrumptious meals. There is large island where everyone can pitch in with the chopping, slicing, pouring and gossiping. Around the corner, there is a handy utility room with an American-style fridge and more storage space, plus an extra sink for washing sand and seaweed from beach-loving youngsters.
The kitchen/diner overlooks the pretty garden and patio doors open out to an alfresco dining area. Enjoy long lunches while the youngsters play on the grass. The garden is walled, so parents can relax knowing it's a safe place for the children to play. There is a further dining area in a lovely shady spot away from the house.
Foundry House can be enjoyed from May to October (although keep your eyes peeled for Christmas availability). There are two wonderfully welcoming reception rooms, a cosy TV snug with comfy sofas & armchairs and the delightful drawing room with wood burning stove and lovely view of the garden through the original sash window. End the day curled up with a book, enjoying lively chat over drinks or stick on a movie after a tiring day at the beach.
The six bedrooms offer super flexible sleeping arrangements at bedtime. There are three stunning double bedrooms on the first floor, alongside a single room, sharing the vast family bathroom. On the second floor there are two family rooms that can be configured for grown-ups, children, babies or a combination of all three; sharing a shower room.
The house is situated in pretty Burnham Market but with complete privacy. The village has plenty to keep guests busy with shops, boutiques and galleries. There are several great places to eat including The Hoste, Socius and Number 29, All this, just five miles from the spectacular Norfolk coastline - pack the bucket and spade and head to Brancaster or Holkham, both lovely sandy beaches.
