A picture perfect cottage with two acres of lovely gardens and views across the Norfolk countryside, Keepers Cottage makes the ideal retreat for families seeking a tranquil and relaxing break. This 200 year-old wisteria wisteria-covered red brick cottage, under a traditional pantile roof, with it’s beautiful gardens and pond is bursting with character both inside and out and looks straight from the pages of a child's story book.
Start the day with morning coffee brewed in the country cottage-style kitchen where guests will find all they need to prepare everything from jugs of Pimms and plates of cucumber sandwiches to full-on roast dinners on chilly autumnal afternoons. The kitchen overlooks to garden and pond to the rear with a glazed door to bring the outside in on warmer days.
At meal times enjoy long, relaxed dinners in the spectacular dining room around the large wooden table. This funky room has mint-candy striped walls and a golden Valkyrie-inspired pendant lamp while the wood burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere on cooler evenings.
There are two lounges to enjoy, the quiet snug which is great for quiet nights in front of the television and open fire on the soft sofas. The main living area is where country cottage meets funky boutique hotel - where a disco ball hangs from antique beams and bright velvets armchairs contrast with floral prints and original features.
In the summer months, guests will want to make the most of the beautiful garden which is great for youngsters thanks to the fact it is fully-enclosed and lawned. Spend sunny afternoons sipping drinks and watching the sheep frolic in the surrounding fields whilst the kids play.
There are four lovely bedrooms to chose from at bedtime, all boasting brilliant views and traditional features are bought up-to-date with vibrant colours and textures. In this quiet location, on the comfy, linen-covered beds, a satisfying night's sleep is guaranteed.
Keepers Cottage is situated on the Wolverton Hall Estate and surrounded by its unspoilt grounds, well away from busy roads or noise pollution. It's just 10 miles from the beautiful Norfolk coastline and there are plenty of great pubs and restaurants in the area including the Walpole Arms and The Saracen's Head, which is a short walk away.
