Nestling in the Glaven Valley close to the village of Cley next Sea and a short walk from the coast, Knotting Hill Farmhouse draws its design inspiration from its surroundings. World-renowned designers Russell Sage Studios have artfully created a rustic and relaxed charm through their use of reclaimed timber and intricate attention to detail. Accommodating up to 18 people, the farmhouse provides the perfect backdrop for any special occasion. Or why not just treat yourselves? You deserve it!
The stylish lounge sits at the heart of the home and is furnished with comfortable seating in leather and velvet, quirky items of objet d’art and high-quality audio-visual equipment making it an ideal space for parties or movie nights. The stunning open fireplace would not look out of place in a French chateau and adds a theatrical setting where you can make the most of the well-stocked dressing-up cupboard. Let your inner thespian out and your imagination run wild!
The large kitchen is equipped to the highest specification for big groups and the fussiest of chefs. Amenities include an AGA, two dishwashers, oven and microwave, a wine fridge, ice maker and two large fridge freezers providing plenty of storage. The Quooker tap provides boiling water as well as filtered drinking water on demand. Make the most of the vegetable and herb garden outside to create a culinary masterpiece.
The dining room with its handmade oval table and signature canoe overhead will comfortably accommodate all your guests warmed by a log burner. Large bi-fold doors fully open onto an outdoor lounge and outdoor kitchen and firepit. You really will be spoilt for choice when deciding where to enjoy your gin and tonic.
Knotting Hill Farmhouse has eight carefully and stunningly designed ensuite bedrooms all with king size beds which can be split into singles, and a master Schoffel suite which enjoys views out to sea, a balcony onto the wildflower roof and even an open-air shower if you’re feeling brave enough! All the bedrooms and bathrooms are exquisitely curated by Russell Sage Studios and finished to the highest specifications.
For those rainy days, take advantage of the boot room, designed and curated by Le Chameau 1866, and borrow a pair of the very best handmade wellingtons in the world.
The spectacular grounds, which extend to over three acres, encapsulate the Farmhouse’s ethos of outdoor living. Here you will find an impressive, wildflower covered area complete with log burner, infra-red heaters and sound system, able to seat 20 people whatever the weather. An all-weather Swedish kitchen boasts a charcoal grill, Egg BBQ, pizza oven as well as fridge, sink and preparation area. The south garden features a large wood fired hot tub, sauna for 10, and a cold-water plunge pool to cool off in afterwards. Or relax under the outdoor shower, there’s even one for your furry friends! A wildflower meadow leads towards the sea and another sheltered seating area with water feature where you can soak up the sun or read a book in peaceful tranquility.
This amazing home is situated in both an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty and a conservation area and is perfectly placed for access to the salt marshes and Blakeney Point. Sailing, bird and seal watching, cycling, golf, coastal walking and many of Norfolk’s finest beaches are all on your doorstep.
