As you journey through idyllic pastures and the green countryside of Suffolk on your way to Little Bradley Estate, you can feel the stresses of modern life slip away. Make your way up the drive, over the 11th century moat and be greeted by the welcoming sight of Cowlinge Hall, your three-storey, 16th century luxury escape for groups of friends and family. Bursting with the sights and sounds of local wildlife, Little Bradley Estate is a picture postcard patchwork of manicured fields, wildflower meadows and bustling hedgerows, boasting sensational sunsets all year round.
As you enter Cowlinge Hall, you’re greeted by the large, open-plan living and kitchen area that’s perfect for entertaining, relaxing and reconnecting with friends and family. The deep, plush sofas are the best place to unwind after a long day. Light the wood burner in the winter months, curl up under a blanket, play board games and spend time with the ones you love. Alternatively, head to the dedicated TV room and settle down in front of a movie.
They say the kitchen is the heart of the home and at Cowlinge Hall that’s no exception. Fully equipped with everything you need, and with local produce available nearby, it’s ideal for communal cooking and relaxed socialising morning, noon and night. In the summer months, take your food onto the patio, or light up the BBQ to dine alfresco, while you watch one of our legendary sunsets.
Outdoors, the 11th century moat circles the hall and there’s plenty of space for little ones to run around, kick a football and tire themselves out. On a sunny day, the garden is also the perfect spot for the grown-ups to catch some rays and relax surrounded by peaceful countryside.
As the night draws in, retire to one of the six bedrooms with space for 12 guests. A mixture of double and twin rooms, all with ensuite facilities, are the perfect place to rest tired heads. On the top floor, the enormous master suite boasts a separate relaxation area with sofas and a TV, vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, and a freestanding roll-top bath to soak away the stresses of the day.
Nestled in sleepy Suffolk, less than an hour’s drive from Cambridge, there’s plenty to do for people of all ages and interests. Those who love nature are spoiled with country walks, cycle trails, networks of lakes and rivers and a wide range of quaint villages to explore. Further afield, the towns of Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Ely offer independent shops, cafes, pubs and a plethora of historical sites and attractions for the kids.
