Tucked away down a winding lane, this stunning modern farmhouse is secluded with idyllic views, but very close to the bustling market town of Leyburn. It would be ideal for a large family get together or a group holiday for friends looking for a tranquil retreat with plenty of options for fun days out.
Spacious, light and elegantly furnished, West Grange is beautifully designed and the interior will impress. Gather together in the heart of the home, its wonderful main living room, where you'll find a fabulous velvet half-moon sofa where you can relax with a glass of wine in front of the wood burner and take in the view through the vast floor-to-ceiling windows. It's the perfect place to unwind, catch up with loved ones or simply curl up under a blanket with a good book. There's also a second cosy snug decorated in dark warm colours with lots of plush seating where you can gather for a film on the large smart TV with a bucket of popcorn.
The open plan farmhouse kitchen and dining area is a delightful space where you can laze around with a coffee, gather together to prepare a feast on the large range cooker and enjoy it at the huge 14 seater dining table which runs the length of the room. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need and there's a double fridge freezer to cram full of local goodies and the hosts have even provided a wine fridge to keep all that bubbly nice and chilled. Whether you're enjoying a big breakfast together or donning your finest and having a celebratory meal, the dining area with its panoramic views of the Wensleydale countryside is a delightful setting to enjoy each others' company. There's a large central kitchen island where you can help prepare the food and for special occasions you can hire a private chef to come in and provide a feast!
There are five luxurious and opulent bedrooms to choose from and each is as lovely as the next. Three of the rooms are on the ground floor and would be suitable for those with mobility issues, with two upstairs. All have super-king size beds, a couple of which can be twins if needed. Plush fabrics, soft linens and cosy throws come in a variety of colours and styles, all equally indulgent. Each room is individually designed and reminiscent of five star hotel accommodation. Every room has its own ensuite, with either roll-top baths where you can luxuriate in bubbles, or large walk-in showers to blast you awake. They are all elegantly designed with stunning mosaic tiles, vintage brass hanging rails and plenty of big fluffy towels.
After a peaceful night's slumber, head to the kitchen and make use of the Nespresso machine before breakfast. On a sunny morning you might like to enjoy your first cup outside in the glorious garden by the lake. Settle into the rattan seating or pop yourself at the teak alfresco dining table and take in the wonderful views as you make your plans for the day. And if your plans only extend as far as sinking into the hot tub, so be it.
You'll be a five-minute drive from Leyburn where you can stock up on food and drink at the impressive Campbells of Leyburn which has an in-house butcher, deli and impressive wine selection. This is an excellent place to buy local produce or stock up for a BBQ. Middleham is definitely worth a visit and you can enjoy a stroll across the gallops and take in this stunning part of North Yorkshire with views of Middleham Castle, Leyburn Shawl and the surrounding Dales. Get your boots muddy, your lungs full of fresh air and then treat yourself to some fantastic fish and chips from the Middleham Fish Bar. Take in lovely Harmby Waterfall and enjoy a pint afterwards at your local, The Pheasant Inn pub. Try The Saddle Room for for a unique dining experience with handpicked wines. There is so much to see and do so be sure to explore the many recommendations the hosts have provided.
In the evening you can grab some blankets, light up the fire pit, get the marshmallows out and do some stargazing. And maybe have one last dip in the hot tub.
