Sun Hill Farmhouse is grand, luxurious and fun, with a gorgeous interior and a beautiful garden overlooking the racing stables next door. It would be a fabulous holiday home for a multi generational family of up to 10 or a group of friends who enjoy nature, hot tubs and luxury living.
Enter this fabulous 18th century house through the breakfast room and into the kitchen where you can drop your bags and marvel at the giant black Aga. There's a large breakfast island where you can relax with the wood burner crackling away as a feast is prepared. The house is full of exposed beams, original fireplaces and flagstone floors paying tribute to its past.
Next to the kitchen is an impressive formal dining room perfect for a lavish dinner party. The room is decadent and elegant and demands you dress for the occasion. And beforehand you might like to gather by the bar for a pre-supper cocktail.
If you fancy a cosy night in, you'll be delighted by the spacious living room with its large open fire and comfy leather sofas. Play a game of chess, curl up with a book or gather round the grand piano for a singalong with drinks! And if you're in the mood for some competition there's a fantastic games room with a full-sized pool table.
A particularly lovely feature of the house is its large orangery which has been beautifully decked out with a unique dining table, lots of comfy seating and an established grapevine growing overhead. Throw open the patio doors and you'll discover stunning views of the Yorkshire countryside with horses grazing in the paddocks.
There are four large elegant bedrooms upstairs, each with its own ensuite, with a fifth bedroom in its own Garden Room nestled outside on the lawn. All of the rooms have lush beds with high quality bedding and a mixture of baths and showers. The copper roll-top bath in the main bedroom is quite something! The Garden Room has a freestanding bath in the room and a four poster bed, ideal for the romantic couple who want some privacy. Two of the main house beds can be split into twins as required.
In the morning gather together for the first cup of coffee in the stunning private garden. You'll find plenty of seating in various areas, seasonal shrubs and flowers all around, a BBQ area and a luxurious jacuzzi hot tub where you can bob around with a drink and enjoy the view as the horses frolic nearby.
Head out for a big cobweb clearing walk, there's a boot room too where you can dispose of muddy garments upon your return and enjoy a drink in the garden as the BBQ does its job. For days out head into nearby Leyburn and Middleham where you'll find plenty of inn's, restaurants and tearooms. Or take advantage of the hosts exclusive extras including a private chef, spa treatments and tours around the stables.
