In the beautiful Kent countryside near the quiet village of Bethersden is Rainford House. With its peaceful setting and views across the surrounding fields, this is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The house sleeps eight guests and blends traditional charm with modern luxury. Dating back to the Victorian era, the original floorboards and sash bay windows overlooking the front garden have been maintained. This merges seamlessly with the newly renovated and open-plan kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped with a classic range cooker with five gas hobs, an American style fridge/freezer, wine fridge, and dishwasher. The large, white marble dining table can seat up to 10 people.
Elsewhere on the ground floor is the stylish yet comfortable lounge, with its sophisticated Chesterfield sofas and wall-mounted 50-inch TV. Double doors open out onto the rear patio with breath-taking views across the countryside beyond. Finally on this level is a utility room with washer and dryer, along with access to the back garden.
Heading upstairs reveals the four bedrooms. The large master has panoramic views from the rear of the house and has a velvet king-size bed, wall-mounted Smart TV, and en-suite shower room. There is a further king-size bedroom, along with a double and a twin - all of which also benefit from fantastic views. They share the stylish family bathroom with freestanding roll top bath, separate shower cubicle, and marble floor.
The outside space at Rainford House is just as impressive as the interior, with a patio and two large terraces. One is at the side of the house and one is further into the countryside and has a barbecue, outdoor dining table, and log-fired hot tub. There is also a fenced off pond with carp, duck house, and its own resident duck.
As secluded as it feels at the house, it is still only a seven-minute drive from the up-and-coming town of Ashford and its array of restaurants and designer outlets. Tenterden is 10 minutes away and boasts many independent shops and quaint tearooms. The coast and popular spots such as Camber Sands, Hastings, and Whitstable are also close by.
