Swap the bustle of city life for a laidback, coastal vibe at this beautiful beach house at the great British seaside. With a captivating position on Whitstable’s prestigious Island Wall, Kings Head House really does have it all. There are sensational sea views and charming interiors, along with lush, Mediterranean gardens which lead straight down to the beach-front. Head to the beach for a paddle if the weather permits before exploring the artisan town and learning its bohemian ways.
Behind its vivid, sea-blue cladding is your home away from home complete with large living areas and four gorgeous bedrooms. Each characterful room has been carefully curated to create a fascinating treasure trove full of quirky, vintage trinkets. Look out for the salvaged coastal knick-knacks and the shabby-chic touches, or the unusual artwork and timeless antique furniture. Piles of books and games can be found scattered around the rooms, and are joined by a full-size pool table to keep the whole family entertained.
Down on the ground floor you’ll find two spacious family rooms, which include a massive kitchen-diner and a cosy living area. Prepare delicious group feasts in the aged country kitchen, before relaxing in the comfy lounge around the roaring fireplace. A large dining table is perfect for dining in, while the alfresco garden terrace is on hand for those sunny, seaside days.
A further chill-out room can also be found up on the first-floor complete with sweeping views across to the beach. Doors open out onto the private sea-view balcony where you’ll find two stylish deckchairs looking out across to the sea.
The four traditional bedrooms are spread across the two floors and include two double en-suites and two lovely twins. Each has been finished with classic homely touches and has a mix of wrought iron bedsteads and interesting furniture. The first floor master even boasts impressive sea views with double aspect windows and doors onto the balcony.
Out in the landscaped gardens, you can while away your summer days, swinging in the hammock or cooking on the BBQ flames. Step down from your back garden straight onto the coastline to explore the nearby bustling town centre. There’s the colourful, fishing harbour and its fresh, seafood markets, along with the traditional shopping streets packed with independent boutiques. Whitstable is also known for its thriving arts scene and has a myriad of craft shops and art galleries.
