Delightful country retreat in the Eden Valley perfect for rural relaxation or an activity break
Time sensitive - don't hang around...
Kirkbride Hall is a newly built, traditional style, stone clad terraced cottage, found amid the cherry and apple orchards of Melmerby Hall. In this beautiful and quiet spot you’ll find the perfect home for holidays that let you appreciate the great outdoors. You’ll find open plan access and parking to the front of the cottage, and a large enclosed patio and garden to the rear that makes the perfect sun trap on a warm summers day, with lots of room for children and dogs to play safely. Kirkbride Hall also has private gated access to the 20 acres of mixed woodland grounds of Melmerby Hall, where you can’t help but be inspired by woodland paths, water meadow and a tributary to the River Eden.
Although new, you’ll find Kirkbride Hall offers all the comforts of a traditional Cumbrian cottage, including sandstone walls using stone sourced from within the estate, solid oak floors, antique furniture, and a large welcoming wood burning stove in the comfortable lounge. The dining room is the ideal setting for cosy family meals and gatherings, as well as entertainment when the dining table converts into a billiards table with all accessories provided, great for some healthy competition! The kitchen is well equipped with granite counters, solid oak cupboards, an American style fridge freezer, a full size electric oven and hob. There is a ground floor cloak room. A charcoal Weber BBQ is provided together with complimentary, locally sourced charcoal so you’re ready to go!
Upstairs are four double bedrooms. The Master Bedroom has a king sized, antique four poster bed and is en suite with a natural limestone tiled walk in shower. The Manor Room is set at the other end of the Hall down three steps to a quiet private en suite bedroom with a king sized bed, which can be arranged as two single beds upon request. The Threlkeld Room has a king sized bed and The Pattenson Room has another king sized bed, which can be arranged as two singles. These two bedrooms share the family bathroom, which has a cast iron bath and a separate free standing shower.
All guests are provided with free swimming vouchers for a nearby swimming pool. Sailing and boating on nearby Ullswater makes a great day out and the Glenridding Activity Centre caters for all abilities with a range of one day courses. The Lake District and the Eden Valley are great places for those who would like to learn how to fish, with courses available including all equipment and instruction, or with plenty of choice of quiet and beautiful places for those with more experience. Clay pigeon shooting and quad biking can be arranged nearby, or simply get on your bike or get walking with so much to explore on your doorstep.
