Nestled not far from the water’s edge in the exquisite town of Salcombe in Devon, The Cottage offers groups of up to six guests a superb stay by the sea. This marvellous retreat has quaint seaside charm inside, with whitewashed walls and bright interiors, alongside lovely views of the estuary and comfy furnishings throughout.
When you arrive, you can gather in the spacious open-plan living area for a welcome drink with your loved ones. Here there’s a well-equipped kitchen for whipping up feasts that makes use of modern appliances and has a handy breakfast bar where you can perch, drink in hand, as your nearest and dearest prepares dinner.
Just off the kitchen is the lovely dining spot, where a table sits next to a nice window, offering a charming place to enjoy meals with your group. At the other end of the living space is a comfy lounge, with fab sofas and a wood-burning fireplace to ensure you stay toasty and warm whatever the weather outside. This is a great spot to relax with a morning coffee or an evening tipple as the flames flicker away, or simply settle in for a movie night on the smart TV.
On warm days, be sure to head out onto your private deck, where you can sit out in the fresh Devon air as you enjoy an alfresco lunch in the summer sun. This is also a great spot to enjoy an evening drink as you watch the comings and goings on Island Street down below.
When eyes grow weary, there are three double bedrooms on offer that have all been thoughtfully and tastefully designed to ensure you all enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. One of the bedrooms sits on the ground floor alongside a bathroom with a double shower, whilst the other two bedrooms are located upstairs alongside the family bathroom that features a bath and a shower.
If you're in the mood for a drink, head across the road to the Salcombe Gin Distillery and enjoy a sundowner with stunning views over Batson Creek. The lively harbour and Salcombe town centre are just a short walk away, so you can easily pick up a fresh croissant from the local bakery in the morning and savour it out on the deck. You can also venture further afield and explore the superb coastlines and inland scenery that this idyllic part of Devon has to offer.
