The detail

For a getaway boasting luxury and comfort in equal measure, look no further than Cecilia's Cottage. With its location in George's Square, a highly sought-after area in the heart of Lyme' Regis' old town, this charming cottage offers guests the perfect seaside retreat. It has been sumptuously decorated with gorgeous furnishings, while a bright and airy colour palette lends the house its own distinct personality. Its location is ideal too, with many of the town's best restaurants a stone's throw away. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, Cecilia's is the ideal escape for groups of friends and family alike.

The house is entered through the main hallway, where you will come upon the open planned sitting/dining room. The lounge area has two large, plush sofas, a cosy wood burner, and a flat screen TV, making it the ideal space for a morning coffee, a drink in the evening, or a movie night with your loved ones. The modern kitchen comes fully equipped with all mod cons - including a Nespresso coffee machine (please bring your own coffee pods) - and plenty of workspace. A glass dining table sits between the kitchen and lounge areas beneath a striking floral chandelier.

Ascend the stairs to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms: one double and one cosy twin room. The beds in the twin room can also function as a double if needed. On the second floor is the attic's master bedroom, complete with its own bath/shower ensuite and rooftop views over Lyme Regis. There is also an additional main bathroom, boasting a large cast iron bath with space for two, a shower, two basins, and a WC. Guests will love relaxing in the luxury bath tub after a day wandering the marvellous beaches nearby. The patio/courtyard garden is accessed via a set of French doors. Here you can relax among the bay trees, or dine al fresco at the outdoor furniture.

Lyme Regis has long been a popular tourist town, with lots of independent shops, galleries, bars, and eateries (with many serving locally caught seafood). Its seaside location means that you will never be far from the beach, where you can enjoy a spot of sailing, or simply soak up the sun in the summer months. The town is also noted for its many cliffside fossils and its fantastic access to the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If arresting countryside is your thing, then the Blackhill Downs and East Devon Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty are both within a short drive.
