Positioned high above the water line, surrounded by lush trees, this impressive stone house, with its quirky turret, balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows, boasts stunning views of estuary life across the waters to pretty Dartmouth.
As you enter you climb the wooden spiral stairs into the bright, welcoming atmosphere of the kitchen and living area. Guests will instantly fall in love with the breathtaking vistas through the large ceiling-to-floor windows and doors, which pull aside to bring the fresh estuary breeze in, as well as giving access to the lovely decked outside area.
The kitchen is, like the rest of the property, modern and elegant and provides everything guests could need for creating memorable meals. A wooden dining table with a backed bench-seat provides plenty of space for settling in for decadent dinners, reminiscing about the day or making plans for tomorrow.
Leave the dishes and retire to the sofa and armchairs to watch the weather move across the sky, spot constellations and enjoy the sight of the buoys bobbing on the water. Should the weather turn chilly, fire up the wood burner and enjoy the flicker of the warm flames. With two beautiful outside spaces, the deck and the walled-garden, this is the perfect spot to enjoy during the sunny months of the year.
Start the day with coffee and croissants on the raised deck enjoying views of the birds dipping across the water and yachts pootling up and down the estuary. And for al fresco dining, take meals in the walled garden where guests will discover comfy outdoor dining furniture surrounded by beautifully planted gardens sheltered from sea breezes by the stone walls.
When bedtime beckons, there are two exquisite ensuite bedrooms, both with access to the outside, and with the highest quality super-king mattresses and linens. And, after a day in the fresh air, exploring the local waterways and hiking paths, a great night's sleep is guaranteed. Wake refreshed, throw open the doors and enjoy the fresh estuary air from the warmth and comfort of the luxurious bed.
The Edge is located in tranquil Kingswear. Guests will love wandering down to its yacht-filled marina for dinner and pints at the Ship Inn, try the locally-caught crab, or take the frequent Lower Ferry over to Dartmouth which is filed with great restaurants, cafes and independent shops.
