The detail

Topplesfield Hall Cottage offers a luxury break in the peaceful Essex countryside near the Suffolk border. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms (plus a fifth on the pull-out sofa bed), this charming cottage has modern amenities, comfy furnishings and a private hot tub for an added slice of luxury. On the outside, this red brick cottage is pleasing on the eye and as you step indoors, the decor is stylish with a mixture of exposed brickwork, whitewashed walls and striking stonework. And, thanks to the underfloor heating throughout the ground floor you can remain cosy and warm all year round.

The kitchen/dining space is a fantastic place to socialise. The modern kitchen is nicely equipped for preparing tasty feasts and the heavy wooden dining table comfortably seats six, making meal times a joy. After dinner head to the living room, which is spacious and is home to plenty of seating as well as a 55 inch smart TV and a Bose interactive speaker. This is a delightful space to settle in for a movie night or play your own music as you socialise with your loved ones. The living room also features a huge bi-fold glass door that opens up onto the private garden, allowing you to bring the outside in when the weather's warm.

The garden itself features alfresco dining furniture which is perfect for dining out in the summer sunshine. The garden is also home to the private covered hot tub. This is the ideal spot to unwind with your loved ones after a day out exploring the local scenery.

When bed time beckons, the two bedrooms sit upstairs. The master room offers nice views out over the garden and the horse paddock, and boasts a luxurious king size bed for the perfect night's sleep. The second bedroom is a twin room. The stylish family bathroom is back downstairs and features a bath and separate shower for added convenience.

When it comes to heading out, there are some lovely walking routes nearby and the local village is only eight minutes away. The village has a park, a dog-friendly pub, a shop and a Post Office, and you can also visit the fab local brewery. If you want to venture slightly further afield you can visit the charming market town of Sudbury, which is 11 miles away and the historic city of Colchester, which is 21 miles away. Guests are also encouraged to pop over into nearby Suffolk and explore Constable Country. Here you will discover a wealth of pretty towns, villages and areas to visit including Lavenham and Dedham Vale. Other local attractions include Braintree Designer Village, Water Sports at Gosfield Lake (10 mins away), and kayaking, paddle boarding and river cruises are available in Sudbury (15mins away).
