Situated on the outskirts of Hadleigh, near Ipswich, the Shearing Shed is a fantastic open plan apartment sleeping up to six with a glorious outside area for family get togethers and celebrations. If there's more than six of you the Shearing Shed is connected by adjoining doors to the owners' second property, the Golden Fleece, and can be booked as one whole unit sleeping up to 12. Perfect for that big family party or friends holidaying in the UK.
On entering the Shearing Shed you'll find a large open plan living area with bright cheerful walls and wood floors throughout. It has the feel of a high-end holiday apartment in Spain and would be perfect for a summer holiday. But the English weather being what it is the owners have also provided plenty of indoor entertainment with several smart TVs, including a 55” flat screen in the living room and a Playstation 4 with dual controllers where you can while away a rainy day on the sofas with under floor heating keeping everything cosy. If you're not into gaming there are lots of books, board games and DVD's to choose from or you can cosy up in bed and just Netflix and chill.
The beautifully fitted kitchen is set up with everything you'll need and includes all mod cons. All three of the bedrooms are decorated to a high standard with funky chairs, cool light fittings and comfy beds and the master boasts a super king and a gorgeous free standing bath in the corner. There's also a large walk in shower in the apartment if you want to get up and go.
The piece de resistance though is the outdoor area. This large wood fenced space is designed for relaxing and partying, and has a huge lounging area with soft cushioned seats, low glass tables, a long bar with gas grill and BBQ and a fantastic, luxurious hot tub. It would be easy to spend your whole holiday out there soaking in the tub with a good book or some music whilst sipping an ice cold beer from the 2L Sub beer dispenser. If you do decide to book both apartments as one unit you'll benefit from two outside kitchens and two hot tubs! And with two fitted kitchens you'll have enough room to host a banquet.
If you can drag yourself away, the apartment is set in 16 acres of rural private land, perfect for a stroll before sliding back into the hot tub and enjoying the stunning views of the countryside.
When it's time to get out and about there's plenty to do and see. A few miles from Ipswich is Jimmy's Farm, which first appeared on our TV screens over ten years ago. The farm has developed into a top attraction with an award-winning restaurant, a farm shop, nature trail and several festivals throughout the year, celebrating science, food, drink and music.
Make sure a trip along the beautiful River Orwell is at the top of your 'to do' list. There are several options which start from the bustling marina at the Ipswich Waterfront. The scenery changes dramatically as you leave Ipswich, sail under the elegant Orwell Bridge and drift peacefully along the river, passing by the picturesque Shotley Peninsula. Cruises are available from a variety of operators and include brunch or afternoon tea trips, bird watching expeditions, candlelit supper cruises and more. Whether you come for a summer holiday, a family party or a Christmas celebration, the Shearing Shed has everything you could need and just a little bit more.
