This luxurious holiday home is tucked away on a quiet lane yet walking distance to the lively centre of ever-popular St Ives. With breathtaking sea views from every floor and a fantastic sandy beach just a stroll away, it’s a great spot to experience the magic of Cornwall.
The traditional granite house has been fully refurbished while retaining many of its period features so you’ve got the perfect mix of classic and contemporary. And with sociable living spaces, calming bedrooms and a secluded garden, Merryn ticks all the boxes for a family gathering or group getaway to remember.
At the heart of the home you’ll find the open-plan living/kitchen/dining area with doors opening out onto the enclosed courtyard garden. This multi-use space boasts a well-equipped kitchen, a large dining table and comfortable sofas. Here you can chat to your guests while preparing a bite to eat, enjoy a leisurely meal or relax in front of the wall-mounted TV. The glass doors can be thrown open to bring the outside in, or you could claim your place on one of the comfy outdoor sofas and enjoy the peace and quiet of this secluded spot. And with a gas BBQ and outdoor table with a parasol, you’re all set up for alfresco dining on a sunny day.
Back inside, the house also boasts a separate snug living room with plush sofas and an additional TV – perfect for anyone wanting their own space or a great spot to settle in and watch your favourite film.
When it’s time for lights out, the sea air will help aid a restful night’s sleep in one of the four tastefully decorated bedrooms. The two front bedrooms boast wonderful views over Porthmeor Beach to The Island, St Ives’ famous headland which overlooks the old fishing quarter. And with a bathroom on every level, there won’t be any queues for the shower in the morning.
From Merryn it’s just a few minutes’ walk to Porthmeor Beach, popular with swimmers and surfers alike, with its stretch of golden sand and choice of beachfront cafes. You can also walk to the centre of St Ives where you’ll find a bustling harbour, an array of eateries and a number of art galleries included Tate St Ives.
