Club Jupiter – where Pontins meets Palm Springs! This rather spectacular mid-century cararvan gives you a taste of the desert whilst being conveniently situated in a classic British caravan park just outside Margate in Kent. It's humorous, fabulous and high-end with a focus on comfort and fun. An ideal destination for a group of three to six friends wanting a very Instagram-worthy holiday by the seaside.
This 2010 Willerby Bluebird has been lovingly transformed with the intention of rejuvenating the tired reputation of caravan holidays in the UK, and it's a blinder guaranteed to create unique and unforgettable memories of your next holiday by the seaside.
The main living area is light-filled and evokes the desert modern architecture of Palm Springs, a space made for lounging with a cocktail on the six-seater crescent sofa upholstered in Poodle & Blonde velvet. The attention to detail throughout is impressive and nothing about this campervan is cramped or simply functional. It's designed to be enjoyed. The kitchen is all muted autumnal tones, and equipped with a fridge, a cooker, and a gold sink, because if you have to do dishes then do them fabulously.
There are three double bedrooms to choose from and each is as glorious as the next. The Jungle Room is a vision of bamboo, rattan, tiki fabrics and sexy bronze mirror panelling. The Lonely Heart Saloon is reminiscent of most fabulous ranch you’ll ever sleep in (cowboy not included). With pink cowgirl wallpaper and a showstopper of a light-studded heart-shaped mirror, it’s the perfect bedroom to get ready for a night out at the rodeo, or a nice seafood restaurant in Margate. The Space Disco room brings to life the decadent 1970's Studio 54 with sequin walls and a mirrored ceiling, as well as the staple Club Jupiter neon.
Club Jupiter contains two bathrooms, each with a lovingly sourced retro bathroom suite. There's a cloakroom toilet, with cork walls, terrazzo flooring and fabulous retro orange vibes and the main bathroom is a pastel oasis, containing a shower.
After you've mixed a cocktail you might like to head out and enjoy the garden and lounge on the lovely 70's rattan chairs. There's also a table for al fresco dining in the sunshine. The site itself offers a heated indoor pool, a bar and restaurant with evening entertainment, crazy golf and a small park shop where you can stock up on the essentials.
If you fancy exploring further afield you're a five minute drive or taxi ride away from Birchington-on-Sea or Westgate and a 10 minute drive from Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate. The nearby blue flag beaches are award winning and the hosts are happy to make recommendations. For food out there's plenty to choose from but The Sun Deck in Westbrook and DIVE Tacos and Margaritas in Margate Harbour come highly recommended.
