The detail

Climb to the top of this beautiful period house, set right on Broadstairs’ seafront, and you’ll find The Lookout. Aptly named for its fantastic sea views, the apartment overlooks the crescent-shaped Viking Bay with its beach huts and fishing boats bobbing in the water. Spend your days at the beach, exploring Broadstairs or heading up the coast along the Viking trail. In the evenings, head back to The Lookout to relax in the roll-top bath or put your feet up while you enjoy the view.

Inside, the apartment feels bright and spacious thanks to natural light flooding in through windows and rooflights. It’s been furnished in a contemporary style that invites you to make yourselves at home right away, relaxing on the velvet sofa or getting everyone together for a meal at the dining table. You’ll find everything you need in the fully fitted kitchen to cater for yourselves or there are plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. After dinner, relax in the living area, snuggled up on one of the two sofas with a film on the TV or get a board game going.

There are three bedrooms, all complete with luxurious mattresses and high thread count linen, promising a great night’s sleep. You’ll find a super-king size bed in the main bedroom with views out over the rooftops. The other two bedrooms are on the top floor, one of which has a bit of desk space just in case you need a quiet spot to get a few things done. If you need a bit of extra sleeping space, one of the sofas can be transformed into another double bed.

There are two bathrooms, one downstairs with a powerful rain shower and a bath, and one upstairs featuring a luxurious roll-top bath set beneath a skylight. This is the perfect spot to relax after a busy day exploring, watching the clouds drift past or even doing a bit of stargazing in the evenings.

There’s plenty to do in Broadstairs and the surrounding area, whether you want to relax by the sea or do some exploring. There are several great Blue Flag beaches in the area. Wander down to Viking Bay and relax in a deckchair, learn to surf at Joss Bay or walk past the magnificent chalk stacks at Botany Bay. You’ll be able to walk everywhere within Broadstairs itself, past charming fishermen’s cottages to independent shops and galleries. There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat, from fish and chips to the Michelin-starred Stark for a special treat. Head around the headland to walk or cycle along the Viking Trail, visiting Margate and Ramsgate along the way if you complete all 25 miles.
