Award winning collection of boutique glamping tents and shepherd's huts just off the Kent coast, with a full butler service and range of facilities available.
Ham Hideaway is owned and managed by Ham Hideaway.
In a wooded and lush sprawling space a stone’s throw from Kent’s iconic Sandwich Bay, Ham Hideaway is a collection of quirky and unique accommodation spaces, available to rent either as self-catered units or catered by the in house chefs. Choose between a shepherd's wagon, or yurt-style tents for between two and six people, and glamp in style on a private and gorgeous patch of Kent.
Buttercup is an ideal option for single travellers or guests, a craftily renovated shepherd’s hut on wheels, now the perfect bedroom for a romantic getaway to the Kentish coast. Alternatively, Bunny’s Burrow and Ladybird Lodge are safari-style canvas yurts designed for two guests, complete with timber decks and beds which can be configured as either a double or twin singles. The two larger tents, Robin’s Roost and Bumble Bee, can comfortable accommodate groups of 4-6 travellers, whether you’re friends, family or groups of couples. Each of the larger tents boasts its own private deck, one double bed, twin singles, and a versatile sofa-bed which pulls out to make up an additional double bed.
Regardless of which you opt for, rest assured that there is no compromise on your comfort or luxury. Every tent and hut comes with Egyptian cotton bedlinen and ultra-plush pillows and duvets. They are fully wired up, come with heating, full inside and outdoor dining and reclining furniture, and even antique dressers. Guests can be confident that the site has full CCTV and secure parking spaces, and the entire area has super-fast 100mpbs broadband. Although you’ll be experiencing the great outdoors and stunning landscape of Kent, every tent has its own private shower and bathroom cabin, with contemporary plumbing and bathroom facilities.
Everything about this picturesque scene is tranquil and restorative, from the beech trees which rustle overhead, to Ham Fen, just a short walk away, Kent’s only remaining natural ancient fenland. Whatever your idea of the perfect getaway, Ham and the historic market town of Sandwich are sure to offer it. Stroll along the coast, visit the cathedral and castles, or nip to nearby Ramsgate to take in the pubs, and a slap up meal. Kent is of course a golfer's paradise, while a number of pleasing bicycle and footpaths lead directly from the tents out through the woods, and even to Sandwich. For great breakfast, lunch, and dinner, check out The Blazing Donkey, just across the field, or order food to takeaway and tuck in at the dining area in the paddock.
Our 2 bedroomed luxury safari tents (Robins Roost & Bumblebee) each sleep 4 persons with a configuration of 1 double bedded room and 1 twin bedded room. Cost is £250 per night for up to 4 persons and £50 per person for the extra sofa bed which sleeps up to 2.
We also have three beautiful Shepherds Huts available (Corncockle, Sweet Briar & Eglantine) with bath & ensuite toilet facilities.
