Renovated in 2018, Sandy Mount House has existed in various forms since the start of the twentieth century when it was built. It has a rich cultural history, including a spell when it was managed by the last remaining survivor of the prison camp escape dramatised in The Great Escape. Indeed, Sandy Mount House even has its own chapter in Tim Hale’s book about Rhosneigr.
