St Curig’s Church offers large groups a unique and quirky stay in rural Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). This former church is wonderfully striking from the outside, sitting in a tranquil slice of countryside offering spectacular views of the Carneddau Mountains. Arrive and wander the grounds, taking in the beauty of the church from all sides, before heading in and getting comfy in the grand, stylish interior.
Drop your bags off in your bedroom then gather in the giant open-plan living area where super high ceilings and ornate touches create a truly remarkable place to socialise together. Beautiful arched windows flood the space with natural light, and the big sofas sit around a large wood-burner ensuring you stay toasty and warm as you catch up over a drink.
Make your way up the winding staircase to the raised mezzanine kitchen, which is as stylish as it is superbly equipped. Modern appliances make meal prep a breeze, and you can sit on a barstool at the island keeping your loved one company as they cook dinner and you open up a delicious bottle of wine.
When dinner’s ready, dine together inside, or take your meals alfresco in the peaceful garden whilst breathing in that fresh country air. Also outside, you’ll find a firepit for cosy evenings spent stargazing, and there’s even a hot tub for indulgent soaks in peace. When it comes to entertaining yourselves, there’s a zip line, pool table, grand piano, guitar, table tennis and a dressing up box, as well as a collection of board games.
When night falls, this unique stay offers a charming mix of rooms to suit families, couples and groups. There are two elegant four-poster double ensuite rooms, plus two stylish twin ensuites that can easily be converted into doubles. Another cosy room features both a single and a double bed with its own ensuite washroom - ideal for small families or friends sharing. For something a bit different, the quirky family room sleeps four in a small double and fun bunk beds, with a private shower room tucked away just below. For little ones, there are trundle beds and a travel cot available, perfect for keeping kids close by. Need more space? Two additional double rooms with a shared shower room can be added for an extra charge.
