Set in the Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey, The Speyside Suite offers cosy accommodation for those looking to explore the Cairngorms National Park. After a busy day hiking along the Speyside Way, enjoying a scenic ride on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway or even skiing in the winter, the Suite is the perfect spot to put your feet up. It’s great for couples but there’s also the option of booking the Speyside Loft which accommodates an additional two guests with its own bedroom and lounge. It has its own entrance, offering a bit of extra privacy if you’re travelling with friends or perhaps teenagers who want a bit of their own space.
The Speyside Suite feels warm and welcoming as soon as you step inside with big comfy sofas around a log-effect fire in the living room, a bright and contemporary kitchen and a luxurious king size bed. Start the day by rustling up breakfast in the newly fitted kitchen before heading out to explore. There’s a large breakfast bar, perfect for dining or just for keeping whoever is cooking company. In the summer it might be warm enough to enjoy your meals, or just a cup of coffee, out on the deck.
In the evenings, you’ll be able to snuggle up in the living room and enjoy the views of the sun setting over the surrounding pastureland, perhaps while sampling a dram of the local whisky. The bedroom features a luxurious super-king size bed and an ensuite with a double walk-in shower. There’s another bathroom with a large bath where you can relax with the help of toiletries from Arran Sense of Scotland.
If you need additional space for an extra guest or two, the Speyside Loft is available to be booked exclusively by guests of The Speyside Suite. This is accessed via an external staircase and features another bedroom that can be set up as a twin or a double. It has its own ensuite shower room as well as a lounge area with a TV and a sofa.
Located in the north of Scotland’s spectacular Cairngorms National Park, The Speyside Suite is perfect for those looking for a taste of the Highlands. Start with a stroll around Grantown-on-Spey itself with its bustling High Street, lined with cafes and traditional shops. Hop on the Cairngorm Moutain Railway and enjoy the view as you chug gently though the countryside.
There’s plenty of hiking and biking to be done along routes like the Speyside way and in the beautiful Anagach Woods. In the winter, head up into the mountains where you’ll find skiing and snowboarding on offer. The Suite is also located close to the Speyside Whisky Trail where you can visit some of Scotland’s most famous distilleries for tours and tastings.
