Journey to Scotland’s most remote northern regions and hidden away from sight and sound you’ll find a land of epic proportions. Wild, moody and endlessly romantic, the Croft 103 cottages have a legendary backdrop. Gaze at the windswept purple heather or the sparkling loch waters, before watching the atmospheric skies look down over the isolated mountains. With nothing and no one to interrupt your thoughts, you can enjoy complete and utter seclusion in the great outdoors.
Immersed within this setting and with magnificent panoramas are two luxurious one-bedroom cottages that have impressive eco-credentials. Expertly crafted to blend in with the contours of the land, they are contemporary hideouts overlooking the beauty of Northwest Sutherland. Carefully planned interiors are home to exquisite, natural materials and include Caithness stone, lacquered steel and handmade wood furniture. With floor-to-ceiling windows and a captivating location, it is an unforgettable place to experience nature at its finest.
Hill Cottage has a cutting-edge design with stunning glass walls and beautiful, honey-coloured stone. Sumptuous living areas have been finished with an exceptional attention to detail and fuse chic, modern style with an honest simplicity. Sink into the classic Anta tweed or sit at the bespoke dining table, before relaxing on the 7ft mattress topped with plush, feather bedding. An outside bath is also on hand for night time stargazing, while a fully-equipped kitchen is perfect for intimate dining.
Shore Cottage is of an equal stature and has a spectacular position overlooking the serene Loch Eriboll waters. Its arched framework fits in with the sweeping rural landscapes and has mesmerising views over the ever-changing tapestry. Its interiors ooze with a timeless elegance that fuses sleek lines and crisp walls with simple, natural materials. Solid wood panelled walls frame the massive 7ft bed, while designer stonework and ceramics add a personal edge. Curl up by the living room fire, or cook an indulgent meal in the kitchen, before sinking into the outside tub for a night beneath the starry night vistas.
The Croft 103 cottages are positioned on the outskirts of Durness, a gorgeous little village at Scotland’s north-westerly tip. Far away from the main road and with a breath-taking location, the cottages are ideal for spending quality time with that special someone. Discover secret, sandy beaches or take peaceful strolls around the loch, or head to the rugged Munro Mountains and the craggy rocks. Waterfalls and wildlife are waiting to be uncovered and include porpoises, seals, and playful pods of dolphins.
