The detail

Set in a beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands and with the Cairngorms National Park on its doorstep, The Glenmore Lodge is perfect for those looking to slow down the pace and explore nature. This contemporary lodge has plenty in the way of luxury, from the underfloor heating throughout to the hot tub in the garden. Enjoy cosy evenings in front of the fire after long walks in the mountains or along the banks of the River Spey.

With velvet armchairs, a modern kitchen and a stylish log burner, the interior of the lodge has been furnished in a contemporary way that feels both welcoming and luxurious. The large, well-equipped kitchen has an island where you can tuck into hearty breakfasts before a long walk or help the chef prepare dinner. There’s also a dining table in the living area, providing a cosy spot for dinner with the family. After you’ve eaten, snuggle up in front of the log burner with views out to Muckrach Castle through the windows and a good film on the TV.

There are two bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to four guests. The main bedroom has a luxurious super-king size bed and an ensuite shower room. The second bedroom can be set up with another super-king size bed or with twin singles, offering plenty of flexibility whether you’re travelling with friends or family. This room also has an ensuite shower room but there’s an additional family bathroom in case you fancy a bath after a day’s exploring. You’ll find fluffy towels waiting for you along with Arran Sense of Scotland toiletries.

You can step straight out from the living room onto the patio outside where you’ll find the hot tub tucked away in a private spot with beautiful views of the surrounding fields. There’s also some outdoor dining furniture so you can enjoy your meals outside on warmer days.

The Glenmore Lodge is located in Grantown-on-Spey in the heart of the Highlands, a great spot for those who want to explore Scotland’s spectacular natural landscapes. Head to the ancient Anagach Woods nearby to discover a diverse array of flora and fauna or do a bit of birdwatching at Loch Garten Nature Reserve where you might be lucky enough to spot ospreys.

Head out into the Cairngorms National Park where you’ll be able to enjoy long walks and bike rides all year round with a bit of skiing in the winter. If you’re in need of some more leisurely activities, explore the town itself, with its traditional shops lining the town centre and the Grantown Museum where you can learn more about the area’s rich history.
