Guests will be enchanted by The Boat House, a traditional slate-roofed, white-washed stone cottage with green doors and windows which sits surrounded by the spectacular scenery of Rothiemurchus and the Cairngorms National Park.
A pretty Rowan Tree creates a natural arch over the front door and is one of a multitude of tree species which surrounds this lovely property which has been recently renovated to an exceptionally high standard. Guests enter through a side door directly into the traditional and well-equipped kitchen with cosy underfloor-heating. The kitchen/dining area is open plan, allowing guests to mingle with the chef while relaxing in the dining area and taking in the spectacular views from two large sash windows.
Beyond the dining area is the snug, which is a warm and cosy sanctuary. It is furnished with a deep comfy sofa and large arm chair, woollen throws, and a wood burner which is set back in an exposed stone fireplace and crowned with a stag's head. A further living area, decorated in muted yellows and dressed with velvets and tweed, boasts a large corner sofa, leather arm chairs and a whopping 75” 4K Ultra HD television connected to a Sonos sound system.
One of The Boat House's three bedrooms, is situated on the ground floor and named (like all the bedrooms) after the wonderful views. The Rowan Room overlooks the grounds which have inspired the interior colour palette of greens and berry reds. The ensuite is a large, modern wet room with shower seat and grab rails.
Two further bedrooms can be found at the top of the soft-pile, carpeted staircase. The smallest, Milton Burn, has a super king-sized bed and is the home's most romantic room. A wood burner keeps it cosy and guests can enjoy nodding off in the glow of the smouldering embers and wake to the sight of Milton Burn and the River Spey. Next door, in the en suite, a roll top free-standing bath sits beside an open fireplace where candles sit in an iron grate. So, fill the tub, light the candles and enjoy a romantic soak.
The lovely Drumore bedroom boasts views of the Cairngorm Mountains and beyond. The scenery is best enjoyed from the comfort of the super king-sized bed or from the roll top bath which sits in the windows of the spectacular en suite bathroom.
The region Rothiemurchus is stunning and is ideal for lovers of outdoor pursuits, whether that be walking, quad biking, skiing (Aviemore is a short drive away) or pony trekking. For nights out, head to The Old Bridge Inn, walking distance from the house, this cosy riverside pub serves high quality evening meals.
