The Dell at Glenlivet is home to four luxurious cabins, each in its own secluded spot with unique views over the 53 acres of natural birch woodlands. Take a dip in the outdoor bath on your balcony or go for a wander through the woods where you might be lucky enough to spot some of the local residents such as deer, red squirrels, owls and even golden eagles. For some breathtaking views as far as Ben Rinnes, head up to the top of the hill with a picnic and relax amongst the heather. After a day exploring the beautiful Scottish Highlands, return to your cosy bolthole for a dram of whisky by the fire and a spot of stargazing in the spectacular dark skies.
Each of the cabins has its own character, partly thanks to their locations. Abhainn is set highest into the hills and the short hike up to the cabin will reward you with spectacular views of Glenlivet and the River Avon. Beithe is tucked away amongst the trees across a pretty wooden bridge, immersed in the sounds and sights of nature. Cnoc is set on a secluded plateau with fantastic views of the surrounding hills and river. Gleann sits in a hollow surrounded by beautiful birch trees, creating a cosy hideaway with plenty of privacy and views out to the west for stunning sunsets.
Each of the cabins has an enclosed balcony area, protected from the elements and kept cosy with a log burner, so you can enjoy the view in complete comfort. This is also where you’ll find the double-ended outdoor bath, the perfect spot to relax after a long walk in the Cairngorms. The Dell is located within an International Dark Skies Park which means that there’s very little artificial light and the night skies can be truly spectacular. You’ll be able to sit out on your balcony with a mug of hot chocolate, stargazing late into the night.
Inside, you’ll find the cabins fully equipped for a cosy escape. The mini kitchen has all the basics allowing you to easily rustle up simple meals. There is a powerful, hot shower in the wet room with robes, soft towels and complimentary toiletries waiting for you. The bed features a luxurious Emma Premium Hybrid mattress and is made up with Egyptian cotton, promising a great night’s sleep. The cabins don’t have WiFi, a deliberate decision taken by the owners to help you switch off and unwind completely.
Glenlivet is located in the heart of the scenic Scottish Highlands and offers plenty of outdoor activities. It’s just on the northern edge of the Cairngorms National Park with miles of hiking and nature trails to explore. There are also opportunities for keen cyclists to go on adventures through the countryside, stopping off at charming villages along the way. Learn more about the history of the area with trips to Ballindalloch Castle and Blairfindy Castle or book yourself on a whisky distillery tour and try some of the finest single malts.

We had a two night stay at the Dell at Glenlivet and had a lovely stay. We stayed in Cnoc cabin which has nice views and we were able to park just outside. Our dogs were welcomed in this cabin, a huge plus! The deck has a an amazing wood burner chucking out heat, together with an outside bath, a welcome treat after our local dog walk. A lovely place to sit, read and get away from wi-fi. The cabin itself is snug, with a comfortable bed, a great bathroom with nice tiling and a small, basic kitchen. There is limited space to prepare simple meals but we managed hot snacks and a little fry-up. The cabin is simply furnished, the wood and plywood against black window and door frames look great. The room is comfortable, warm and the blackout blinds worked well in June. The area is stunning and Paul was quick to help with recommendations for walks. The walk up the hill is a must to enjoy the beautiful views across the valley.
