The Long Barn offers two truly unique and memorable places to stay, both of which combine authentic textures of bare materials, such as stone, slate, zinc and cedar, alongside modern facilities that offer a touch of luxury. The two properties, Cedar and Zinc, have both been designed with sustainability in mind and sit within nine acres of beautiful grounds that you and your four-legged friends will just love exploring.
Cedar is a bright, spacious holiday home, with large bi-fold doors, that let the outside in. You can slide these open in summer and step out into the nice garden, lighting the fire pit to keep you toasty and warm as the sun sets. There’s also an enclosed courtyard with patio seating and a BBQ, meaning you can grill up some delicious local produce and dine alfresco in the fresh country air.
Back inside, the living room has a wood burner with two comfy leather sofas sitting around it, offering a nice spot to socialise with your loved ones whilst taking in the lovely views. Cedar’s modern kitchen is beautiful and functional, with lots of handy appliances and a range cooker with an induction hob. You can enjoy long, tasty meals on the rustic dining table, which is also the perfect spot to sit with your freshly brewed local Pembrokeshire coffee from the coffee machine provided.
Upstairs, the two bedrooms are wonderfully styled and both have their own ensuite bathrooms for added privacy. The first bedroom is bright and airy thanks to two sky lights and features an antique double bed and a luxurious roll top bath, as well as an enclosed shower in the ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom is a calm haven of green, cream and wood tones and can be arranged with two large single beds or a super-king size bed, offering plenty of flexibility.
The second property at the Long Barn is Zinc. This charming space allows you and your family to reconnect, along with your four-legged friends, and features awe-inspiring and intriguing rustic-industrial elements that are sure to wow.
The large, open plan living area has super high ceilings that add to the spacious feel. The lounge has a pair of beautiful leather Chesterfield sofas that sit around the wood burning stove. This is the ideal spot to sit with a good book or watch a movie on the smart TV, which comes with Netflix. Off the lounge is the dining area, which has a lovely, rustic dining table that seats six. Zinc’s kitchen is supremely stylish, with blue units, white worktops and a brick feature wall. It is also nicely equipped with modern appliances to make meal preparation a breeze.
When bedtime beckons, Zinc has three bedrooms, with two on the ground floor. The first bedroom has a king size bed, an ensuite shower room and French doors that open up onto the patio outside. The second bedroom on the ground floor features two twin beds and a work desk. Upstairs, the third bedroom has zip link large single beds, which can be combined to create a super-king size bed. This room also has an ensuite. There’s a further family bathroom upstairs with a beautiful bath and a spacious shower.
Guests staying at Zinc and Cedar will want to explore the marvellous grounds that surround them. Nearly every tree, hedge and flower has been planted by the owners, creating a peaceful haven to reconnect with nature. Wander through the wood alongside the stream, play together in the fields, relax beside the large pond or picnic on one of the picnic tables that are dotted throughout the grounds.
If you wish to venture further afield, you can explore the marvellous attractions of Pembrokeshire. You’re on the outskirts of Haverfordwest, so you’re only a few minutes’ drive from supermarkets and shops for essentials. The two mile stretch of golden sands of Newgale is only eight miles away and is perfect for a walk with your dog or for water sports. Other highly recommended Pembrokeshire treasures include St. Davids, Solva, Barafundle Bay, National Trust’s Stackpole and the Pembrokeshire coast path.

Leave a reviewWe couldn’t have picked a nicer place to stay for our first trip to Pembrokeshire with friends and family. Zinc was perfect in every way for us, the decor is quirky but really well thought out, the kitchen is well equipped the beds are very comfortable and there was plenty of information on what to do and where to go. The barns are well positioned for trips to the coast ,castles and the national park, everywhere we went was within easy reach. Karen and Rob provided an extremely warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble if we had to contact them for any reason. They truly have thought of just about everything including a welcome pack containing local produce and home made goodies for us and the dog. We had plenty of space both inside and out so we never felt overcrowded. The weather, surprisingly ,was glorious so we were able to make good use of the bbq area and the beautiful gardens. We had a large dog with us and she was well catered for too from bowls, blankets, treats and outdoor shower to wonderful walks around the lake and extensive gardens. What more can I say other than we had the most amazing stay with great hosts and will definitely be returning.

We had wonderful stay at the Cedar Barn with our one year old and doggo. Rob and Karen were extremely hospitable and made us feel right at home. We loved the welcome basket of goodies and appreciated our hosts efforts to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The highlight was definitely seeing the neighbourly sheep in the fields every day. Our daughter absolutely LOVED them :)

What a fabulous place this was to stay. The house was beautiful, a real home away from home. I can't think of one thing the house didn't have. Great hosts and a lovely welcome basket of goodies. We have a lovely few days exploring Pembrokshire. If you want a beautiful house to stay in look no further.
