Crynga Mawr Mill is a beautiful old mill that has been lovingly transformed into three luxury holiday cottages that can be booked together or individually. When booked collectively, the properties can sleep up to 14 guests and individually they sleep between two and eight people.
The mill is nestled in a private slice of Ceredigion countryside on a historic farm that is only three miles from the fishing village and stunning beaches of Aberporth and a five-minute drive from the historic town of Cardigan.
The farm is listed and was founded in the 1820s to make use of the natural spring to power a mill and dairy. During your stay you’ll love the stunning views across the countryside, and the many nooks and crannies for you to explore. Inside, all three cottages are awash with rustic touches, such as the slate flagstone floors and exposed wooden beams, creating a charming, rural ambience that we're sure you'll love.
Crynga Mawr Mill Cottage is the main property that is ideal for big group get-togethers and wonderful social evenings that stretch long into the night. There’s a spacious farmhouse kitchen in the cottage with a grand dining table that comfortably seats 14 guests. This is ideal for hearty breakfasts, tasty lunches and grand dinners with your whole group. The kitchen is nicely equipped with all of the amenities you’ll need to whip up delicious feasts during your stay.
After a big dinner, head into the expansive living room with its large leather vintage chesterfield sofas and wood burning fireplace and catch up as the logs crackle in the flames. The cottage has three bedrooms, meaning it can sleep up to six guests. There’s also space for two kids on a discrete sofa bed in the master bedroom. The main cottage also has two luxury bathrooms including the master bedroom ensuite and a downstairs cloakroom.
Moving onto the second property, Coach House Cottage sleeps two adults in one delightful mezzanine bedroom. This space was originally used to store the farm coaches and run the mill workings and it has now been transformed into a romantic break for two or, if you’re booking all three properties together, a tranquil spot to escape to away from the rest of the group.
The Coach House has the aforementioned mezzanine bedroom as well as a luxurious ensuite bathroom with a power rain shower and a large open plan kitchen and lounge that's ideal for two.
Finally, Stables Cottage sleeps six guests in three lovely bedrooms (two doubles and one twin). This space has two more luxury bathrooms including the master bedroom ensuite and downstairs has a large farmhouse kitchen/dining room and a stunning lounge. So you can enjoy dinner with the group at the main cottage and retire back to Stables Cottage for a cosy evening in, in front of the fire. Or, if you're booking Stables Cottage alone, there's enough room for the six of you to enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring to the lounge for the evening.
All three of the cottages have their own private front garden or patio and all of them back onto a large sunny garden where you can gather together on summer days. The main garden also works as the start point for some lovely walks that take you winding through ancient woods past trickling streams.
If you wish to venture slightly further afield, then the Cardigan Bay area was voted by the Lonely Planet as the best place to be in the world right now. Head out and explore this incredible part of Wales and enjoy coastal walks, castles, sandy bays, pristine National Trust beaches and quaint fishing villages. Cardigan town is also well worth a visit, with its famed castle and abundance of local shops, artisan bakers, pizza makers and award winning restaurants.
