This stunning manor house has everything large groups of friends and family could ever need for the perfect getaway. It's the place to romanticise a bygone era while enjoying all those 21st century commodities which make for a relaxing holiday.

Within walking distance of the Isle of Wight's beautiful white sand beaches, Shalfleet Manor also has plentiful grounds with a swimming pool, tennis court and fields which run down to the creek.

In the summer, make the most of the stunning gardens, enjoy dinners alfresco and long nights partying in the moon shadows. Spend long, warm days relaxing on the comfy loungers listening to the children play on the lawns, or head to the sea for a stand-up paddleboard adventure.

And when the weather gets cooler, enjoy romantic strolls along the sand before returning to roast dinners cooked in the AGA oven and sherry sipped by the most impressive stone fire place in the comfy living room.

There are a total of three reception rooms, including a cosy snug for quiet after-dinner assignations. A large dining room is the perfect place to host celebratory dinners and the owners can recommend caterers and private chefs to take on the hard work. And the following morning head to the sunny conservatory for brunch while enjoying the pretty garden views.

At the end of long days, playing, relaxing or exploring, there are seven fabulous bedrooms to choose from. The glorious master bedroom has an ensuite and balcony where guests can enjoy a morning coffee and listen to the birdsong at the break of day. There is one further ensuite and two further family bathrooms.

Shalfleet Manor has everything visitors could need, and guests have no need to stray far, but the local area has plenty to discover. There are countless beaches including the surfer's favourite Compton while youngsters will love rockpooling at Bembridge. When it's time to satisfy hungry stomachs, check out the harbourside Spyglass Inn and The George at Yarmouth.
