Situated on the edge of a tidal estuary, this historic cottage has magnificent views stretching out across the sands to the water and beyond. The former fisherman's cottage has kept much of its original character but has been stylishly refurbished.
Stepping into the property, guests will be struck by the bright and airy feel of the interior. Beams and walls are painted in whites and muted-greys and rugs provide a cosy addition to the traditional wooden floors. Two large armchairs and an elegant sofa invite guests to settle down by the gas-fired wood burner-style fire and settle in to watch flames flicker, while a large flat screen television offers more entertainment.
Beyond the living room is a large and well-equipped kitchen, it contains everything you might need to create wonderful dinners using the best of the region's produce.
It is a light and bright space, cupboards are white cottage-style and perfectly compliment the traditional stone floor. A large wooden dining table with wooden benches provides plenty of space for guests. This welcoming space makes the ideal spot for visitors to plan the day's adventures while enjoying lengthy breakfasts.
There are two bedrooms upstairs, one ensuite double and a twin room too. All beds have memory foam mattresses and crisp white linens, the light colour scheme has been continued which makes for a calming environment to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. A further modern family bathroom, complete with a soaking tub and walk-in shower, also lies on the top floor.
When day breaks, check out more of those stunning views from the bedroom window or wander outside with the morning coffee to utilise the spacious deck which sits adjacent to the sands. Take in the air, the views and the sounds and reflect on what is sure to be a memorably relaxing stay. The spectacular views make it difficult for guests to leave the comfort of this lovely cottage but it is perfect situated for explorers keen to discover this beautiful part of the world.
The cottage sits on the edge of the Lake District National Park, an idyll for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers. Ravenglass is home to a steam railway, Roman ruins and plenty of great eateries. The Inn at Ravenglass is a favourite for its great menu while The Ratty Arms is a traditional station pub, friendly and serving pub grub.
