The detail

In this quiet, leafy part of the Chamonix valley you’ll find fantastic views of Mont Blanc and such quiet you’re sure to sleep well.

At this beautiful alpine ski chalet there are antique touches such as ornate lamps, a large writer’s desk and several giant framed mirrors, all of which lend a stylish, old-fashioned feel. The rooms have all been sympathetically modernised with chrome and slate en suite bathrooms, flat screen TVs and modern lighting, combined with traditional chairs, beautiful wardrobes and delicate bed linens. Toiletries are gorgeous Bamford Bath.

There is a discreet mezzanine loft up a rickety wooden ladder above the central living area that acts as a great home cinema with an impressive range of DVDs. These include vintage ski DVDs for the enthusiasts who want to pick up tips at the end of a hard day’s skiing. La Ferme du Bois is also dog-friendly, so long as your pet is well behaved.

La Ferme du Bois can be fully catered or self-catered ski chalet, depending on what you prefer. The fridge can be fully stocked for your arrival via prior arrangement if booked on a self-catered basis. If catered, a selection of excellent house wines are provided with Veuve Clicquot the on-tap house champagne, but with the tempting possibility of upgrading to include other fizzes such as vintage Krug.

A lovely outdoor hot tub is provided for your exclusive use. This Chamonix chalet is in the exclusive Les Bois area of the Chamonix valley, half-way between Argentière and Chamonix. Chamonix is a serious skier’s nirvana and world class ski resort. But while there is certainly lots of challenging terrain to tackle, intermediates have plenty to entertain them too and there really is something for all levels. Non-skiers have lots to divert them too. Take a trip up the vertiginous Aiguille du Midi lift to get the jaw-dropping views from the top (and step out onto the glass-bottomed viewing platform), or pop into town for some shopping or to visit the Chamonix museum.
