For those seeking to escape from the hubbub of city life and lose themselves in the peace and quiet of nature, then look no further than West Hale Gate Glamping. This East Yorkshire glamping site contains three different shepherd's huts, each with their own distinct character and charm, and has fantastic access to some of England's most striking countryside. Whether you are looking for a quiet solitary retreat, or a romantic couple’s getaway, West Hale Gate is second to none.
Guests will have their choice of three shepherd’s huts - all of which have been meticulously decorated to the highest of standards: The Lincoln Longwool is of a modern design, while still providing a warm and cosy air; The Blue Texel is of a more traditional construction and is chockfull of quaint charm; while the even more luxurious Swaledale, the newest addition to the site, contains its very own en suite.
Each of the huts come with a bespoke handcrafted kitchen area with a sink, worktop, and fridge, along with a dining table and chairs. The more spacious Swaledale has a hand-crafted double bed, while the other two huts have comfortable double beds which fold away into equally comfy sofas. The Swaledale has its own en suite, The Blue Texel has an attached luxury shower cabin, and the Lincoln Longwool's facilities can be found in a nearby cabin.
In terms of the exteriors, The Lincoln Longwool avails of its own BBQ and firepit area, while both The Blue Texel and Swaledale have these, plus a separate hot tub each. And if you are staying at the Blue Texel, be sure to relax in the evening on the giant swing, which is also available for guests staying at the other huts.
The surrounding area is replete with things to see and do. For the nature lovers there are the Yorkshire Wolds, a region of low hills and stunning beauty. Famed for its award-winning walks and historic villages, The Wolds are the perfect location for a country walk or cycle. The Farm itself is half a mile from the pretty village of Burton Fleming, where there are bus links to the nearby coast spots of Bridlington (7 miles), Filey (7 miles), Scarborough (12 miles) and Whitby (33 miles). The port of Hull is 34 miles away also, while the historic medieval city of York is 37 miles. If it’s shopping that you’re after – and you don’t mind the drive – the city of Leeds will have everything you need.
