Enjoy an off-grid experience without sacrificing comfort or touches of luxury at High House Hideaway, which is hidden away at the end of a long, private road in the corner of a farm. Running off solar power, this ecologically friendly shepherd’s hut, which boasts stunning views over open farmland to the Cleveland Hills, will be the perfect location for a romantic getaway or a chance for friends to reconnect.
Inside, you'll find a stylish and quirky interior where you can spend quality time with your companion or just appreciate the solitude. A cosy double bed features reading lights for some late-night book browsing and the convenient USB sockets will charge your phones overnight. A log burner just around the corner will ensure you are always toasty and warm whatever the weather outside.
In the main space, there is seating for two at a wonderfully rustic dining table and a bespoke kitchenette with gas hobs, a fridge, kettle, toaster, cutlery, glassware, dishes and cooking utensils makes sure you have everything you need to set yourselves up for the day with a hearty breakfast. Tongue and groove wood panelling in a tasteful shade of blue and natural finishes throughout provide an ambience which is in sympathy with the surrounding countryside.
You will find fluffy towels, soaps and body wash in the bathroom alongside a fully working shower and a small window with more private views of the farm, so no uncomfortable trips to a communal shower block.
Outside, there's a gorgeous private garden area with seating and a firepit, just the thing for late-night sessions of chatting and marshmallow toasting. A welcoming wood-fired hot tub will provide you with an unforgettable opportunity to gaze at the stars while enjoying a delicious glass of bubbly.
The Hideaway is a stone's throw from local village pubs, restaurants and shops, and Darlington is close by too if you fancy a day out. Or why not have a trip to the coast and explore Whitby or Scarborough?
£150 per night plus an additional £15 cleaning fee.

Just returned from our stay here and WOW! Loved it, partner said it was his best birthday yet! Brownie points to me thanks to Rob and Katie Just pack yourself and your snacks, Rob and Katie provide you with eggs, porridge, bread and items to make yourself a cup of whatever your preference is Even left us a bottle of prosecco to help celebrate my partners birthday Explained we would be bringing our four legged baby and they provided us with a bed and bowls for him! Bed is super comfy and spacious (My partner is 6ft3 so as you can imagine space can be an issue) The views are breath-taking making you think you could be anywhere not just in Darlington! Came home and recommended it to all our friends to stay, would return
