Traditional charm meets the modern world at Haddy's Hut, a bespoke property built in the style of the shepherd's huts so prominently seen throughout rural England in the 1800s. Located in the Peak District of Derbyshire, guests can enjoy stunning views across the Hope Valley.
Spacious and airy inside, the hut sleeps two and is perfect for a romantic retreat to the countryside to take some time out for peace, quiet and tranquillity. The open plan living and dining area has a comfy double bed tucked at one end, a small dining table with chairs, and a fitted kitchen equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge, kettle and toaster. An ensuite bathroom comes complete with shower, WC and basin.
While it may take its origins from more than 150 years ago, Haddy's Hut does incorporate the luxuries of modern living, with underfloor heating throughout and a woodburning stove to keep everything toasty even in the depths of winter. There is also a TV, DVD player, and WiFi for movie nights in.
Double French doors open out onto the private outside area with its patio furniture, parasol and external lighting; which are perfect for a morning coffee, alfresco dining, or a drink before bed surrounded by the beauty of the Peak District.
The hut is part of Oaker Farm and while those staying can enjoy complete privacy in their own corner of the site, complete with its own parking space, the owners are on hand to help with any queries you may have. Guests also have access to the laundry room - which has ironing facilities, a freezer, books and games.
While those staying may simply want to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there is also plenty of other options in the Hope Valley. There are many footpaths right on your doorstep just waiting to be explored, while some may prefer classic walks such as Winnats Pass, Mam Tor and the Great Ridge.
History lovers should visit Peveril Castle or Chatsworth, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and there are also many country pubs to discover in the area.
