Springwood Shepherd Huts

These fantastic shepherds huts have been carefully hand built by the owners and a team of master craftsmen. Every aspect of these huts has been designed to ensure that guests are offered a supremely comfy place to stay, whilst still maintaining the charming, traditional feel of a rural shepherds hut. There are five huts on site, all of which sleep two guests in plenty of comfort, and offer you a peaceful slice of North Yorkshire countryside. Three of the huts (Herdwick, Cotswold and from October 2023 onward, Jacob) even come with their own private hot tub for added luxury!

Each hut features a fully equipped, fitted kitchen that has all you need to cook some delicious dinners. The kitchenettes feature two induction hobs, a microwave/oven, a fridge with a small freezer, a toaster, a kettle, and a country style sink. You're also provided with all of the cutlery, pots and pans you could need. You can enjoy your meals outside in the summer sun, or up at the breakfast bar which has two handy stools.

Inside, each hut makes use of modern design flourishes such as whitewashed walls, stylish blinds, and works of art. You also have a quaint couch that sits next to a wood burning stove, meaning you can stay comfy and cosy all year round - there's also underfloor heating so you can stay nice and warm without having to light up the fire.

Behind the sofa sits the super-comfy king size bed, which has Egyptian cotton linen, a duvet and pillows. There’s even a smart TV on a swivel mount so you can view it from all around the hut - this makes movie nights in a joy! Springwood Shepherd Huts offer all the quirks of a glamping experience, with the added luxury of a hotel. This is particularly the case when it comes to your bathroom. There are no composting loos and cold showers here! Your bathroom consists of a shower cubicle and a mains shower, sink, toilet, heated towel rail, amazingly soft towels and some lovely complementary toiletries. Storage hasn’t been forgotten either, with storage space for hanging your clothes, and an iron and ironing board included.

When you step outside you're presented with your own peaceful spot to relax in the summer sunshine. Gaze out onto fields, where Hebridean sheep and alpacas graze, whilst enjoying the peace and quiet of your surroundings. You can light up the fire pit which can keep you toasty in the evenings and can also be used as a BBQ to prepare some meals al fresco. And for guests staying in Herdwick and Cotswold, you can relax and unwind in the luxury and comfort of your own private hot tub!

Whilst you may wish to while away your days relaxing around the hut, those who want to venture out have lots to see and do in the area. The amazing, historic city of York is just a short drive away. The city is full of amazing restaurants, quaint cafes, cracking pubs, and boutique shops. There are also plenty of historic sites to explore like York Castle Museum, York Minster, and Cliffords Tower. Lovers of country walks will want to try Skipwith Common or Wheldrake Woods, both of which are nearby, and well worth a visit.
