You should know

• Two dogs are very welcome at The Lodge but they will charge £35 per dog per week.
• Babies and children are welcome. A travel cot with changer, stair gate and high chair are available on request.

The detail

This incredible private haven has been decorated to the highest and most charming standard and boasts five bedrooms and four bathrooms, making it perfect for a large family get together or a special occasion. On arrival you'll be struck by the lavish exterior of the building. There are sprawling manicured lawns and pretty olive trees, and guests can socialise on the fabulous reclaimed wooden outdoor dining table for 10 after preparing a feast on the charcoal BBQ. The outside space also has informal sofa seating for gatherings and sun loungers for lazy sunny afternoons. You’ll also discover other benches dotted about for a quiet moment of reflection. The garden is a haven for wildlife with butterflies, dragonflies and even a resident red squirrel. There's even a stunning swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers and a large eight person hot tub.

Inside you'll be just as delighted. There's a very cosy sitting room with a huge deep sofa to sink into for a snooze and gorgeous leather armchairs where you can enjoy a good book and glass of something delicious. There's a wood burner to make it extra inviting and the underfloor heating will make sure you're snug as a bug the whole time. Conversely, during the summer the cool flooring and open plan design of the room will make for a perfect hideaway during the hot midday sun. There's also a drinks bar and a picture frame TV with Sky Sports - it's a perfect gathering spot.

The formal dining room is elegant and offers seating for ten beneath a fabulous chandelier. The room is perfect for fancy evening gowns and champagne. The very spacious kitchen is open plan, fully equipped, and has a dining area with L-shaped seating and a bench. This is a lovely and cosy place for a late informal supper overlooking the garden with patio doors opening out to the pool.

Up the stairs from the hallway and you’ll find five stunning bedrooms. The Master is beautiful with a super king-sized bed and a lovely en-suite with a gorgeous nickel roll top bath. The second room offers flexible sleeping arrangements with a zip link bed which can be twins or a super king. This room also boasts a fantastic en-suite, this one with a walk in shower. Bedrooms three and four, respectively, have twin beds under the eaves (perfect for the kids) and a cosy double bed. These two rooms share a family shower room. The final room is in a private annexe outside, perfect for anyone wanting their own private space on the ground floor. It has a beachy feel to it and also offers a zip link bed that can be used as twins or one super king. This room has a fabulous en-suite with a walk in shower and is ideal for anyone with mobility issues. All the rooms are bedecked with luxurious linens, sumptuous bedding and lovely throws. You'll also find White Company toiletries throughout for your indulgence.

Back on the ground floor film lovers will be delighted by the cinema room complete with a 65-inch television that also has Sky and an Xbox with games. There's also a fabulous games room with a pool table, dart board, children’s tepee, boardgames and a Smart TV also with Sky. In addition, there’s a separate snug/office, perfect if you want some quiet time to yourself or if you need to catch up on some emails.

There are plenty of lovely local pubs within walking distance if you fancy exploring the area and you'll find lots to entertain you in the ancient town of Cirencester where you’ll find a host of fabulous shops as well as the Corinium Museum that reveals the town's Roman past. For adventurers, you’re just a stone’s throw from Cotswold Water Park where you can sail, kayak, swim, water ski and so much more as well as enjoy walks around the lakes.
