The Details

This stunning cabin on the incredible Isle of Skye was designed by award-winning architects and offers couples a contemporary base for a romantic getaway. Situated in the quaint village of Tarskavaig, this calming retreat has huge windows that provide breathtaking views of the countryside and coastline beyond. This is a superb place to rest and unwind, being at one with the spectacular coastal scenery that Skye has to offer.

Inside, the cabin has a minimalist and modern feel, with big windows that flood the space with natural light and connect you to the world outside. Micro-cement floors and underfloor heating add a contemporary luxury feel, whilst the cosy wood-burning fireplace adds a rustic touch and keeps you warm and toasty whatever the weather outside.

Sit with your loved one on the corner sofa as you gaze out at your surroundings or enjoy a movie on the wall mounted smart TV. There are also a selection of games and books on-hand, should you wish to make use of them. On warm days, step outside and unwind in the alfresco seating, whilst breathing in the fresh sea air - the perfect spot for a morning cuppa.

The open-plan living space is also where you’ll find the well-equipped kitchen, which has modern appliances ensuring you and your partner can whip up tasty meals during your stay. Birch ply doors and integrated units make the space feel considered and uncluttered. Then, when dinner’s served, dine together on the quaint table for two that sits next to a huge sliding glass door, providing the perfect setting for a meal with a view.

When night falls, The Bothan has a fabulous bedroom, with a super-comfy king size bed that sits opposite a huge window. Wake to incredible views and enjoy your first coffee of the day beneath the duvet in style. There’s also a modern bathroom with a rainfall shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC.

There is also a utility room which sits in a separate building close to the Bothan and is a handy space for outdoor clothing and equipment. There is an outside tap for muddy boots and inside, there is a washing machine, tumble dryer and overhead clothes airer. Two outdoor loungers are also provided.

The Bothan offers stunning views of Tarskavaig Bay and the isles of Eigg, Muck and Rum. Set in the Sleat peninsula - known as the “Garden of Skye” - this peaceful retreat is perfect for nature lovers. Surrounded by the Cuillin mountains, it offers great walking, kayaking, cycling and even foraging. Starry skies, incredible sunsets and occasional Northern Lights add to the magic.

Local events, cafes and the nearby Torabhaig Distillery enhance the experience and you’re also just 20 minutes from the Armadale ferry and 45 from the Skye Bridge, ensuring you’re in the ideal spot to unwind and explore the island.
