Tucked away in the picturesque Howardian Hills in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside lies Maidensworth Farm. This magnificent property is the perfect example of a labour of love, having been carefully renovated by its owners over the course of 30 years. Restored from the original Georgian farm buildings and granary, guests will be struck by its meticulously bedecked interior, remarkably preserved exterior and arresting courtyard entrance. And with onsite activities like yoga and its ample opportunities for al fresco dining, you certainly won't be stuck for things to do. There's even a full-sized tennis court! So, get away from the rat race of urban life and immerse yourself in this 45-acre slice of paradise.
The interior is spacious and luxuriantly furnished. Guests will be struck by its vaulted ceilings, large beams, huge fireplaces, and various pieces of artwork and curios that make this a truly unique and welcoming stay. On the first floor is the focal point of the house - The Granary. This 80-foot long room comfortably houses a full-sized snooker table, and a massive dining table capable of seating up to 20 guests. The spacious kitchen comes fully equipped and with a large table, perfect for casual suppers. The house sleeps up to 12 people in six differently themed - but equally as comfortable - en-suite double bedrooms.
The property covers 45-acres and boasts some delightful outdoor features. The beautiful gardens are lovingly tended to by the owners, providing the perfect setting to enjoy the rustic charm of your surroundings. In-keeping with its historic role as a farmhouse, Maidensworth has a well-stocked kitchen garden, its very own orchard, and fresh eggs are often available from the free-roaming chickens. For the perfect al-fresco dining experience there is a large terrace with tables and chairs, or you can convene in the stunning courtyard garden where there is a covered terrace, firepit, and BBQ.
The Howardian Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - are perfect for hikes and cycling. They lie between the North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Wolds and the Vale of York, making Maidensworth Farm the perfect location for those wishing to do some exploring. If you'd like to soak up some city life then you can hop in the car and in less than 30 minutes you will hit York, a city known for its rich cultural heritage, medieval architecture, and world famous cathedral. The city also provides easy access to the Yorkshire coastline which is just 30 minutes away. Other local attractions include York Minster, Castle Howard, Ampleforth Abbey, Ampleforth Golf Club, and the North Yorkshire Moors.
