When it's time to press the escape button on busy lives, head to these spectacular timber treehouses for a relaxing and luxurious trip to recharge and refresh. They are found at the end of a private track which winds through pretty Devon countryside and leads visitors to the spectacular wooden treehouses which sit organically amongst a wooded copse.
Beautifully designed to compliment the surrounding environment these delightful houses will instantly delight and inspire. The houses are reached via a decked walkway which climbs through the trees to the entrance. Built entirely from timber, jaws will drop when guests step inside the double height open plan kitchen and living area. Light streams in through the wall of windows which offer views of the tree canopy and across the fields beyond whilst illuminating this spacious area with natural light.
A stylish and unobtrusive kitchen lines the back wall and discreetly contains everything required for creating delicious meals from the fabulous local produce. Light the candles at the wooden dining table and settle in for a romantic evening. Open a bottle of wine and watch the sunset over the fields and, after dinner, head out onto the large wooden terrace for some stargazing.
Perhaps spot constellations from the luxury of the outdoor copper bathtub, what better way to relax before climbing to the Mezzanine level and falling into the built-in king sized bed? Snuggle under the crisp linens, soft duvets and blankets and enjoy a rejuvenating night's sleep, the silence is only punctuated by the occasional hoot of the owl.
When morning arrives, take coffee in bed and marvel at the views from the large skylight window. Or sink into the stylish, comfy sofa in the living area and let the sunlight warm the face as plans are made for the day ahead. On chilly mornings, fire up the wood burner and warm feet while watching the flames flicker.
Guests will undoubtedly never want to leave these breathtaking abodes but, for those with itchy feet, there is plenty to do in the nearby area. The treehouses are on the edge of Dartmoor National Park which offers many opportunities for cycling, hiking or simply picnicking and day dreaming. Supplies can be picked up from the many independent stores in historic Exeter and for eating out there are lots of options too. The local pub, The Duck in pretty Yeoford, does good local ale and traditional pub grub, or head to Paschoe House for fine dining.
