Once an old workshop, this characterful cottage has been transformed into a stylish and inspiring retreat on the beautiful Llanfendigaid Estate. Set in a sunny spot behind The Main House and within walking distance of the Welsh coast, Workshop Cottage is full of warmth and originality, making it an unforgettable base for a break in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Guests also have access to the estate’s luxury indoor heated swimming pool, woodland trails and outdoor activities, ensuring a holiday that blends relaxation with adventure.
Step inside and you’ll be struck by the cottage’s unique character. The interiors make the most of its history, with exposed stone walls, wooden beams and a striking stone chimney breast housing a cosy wood-burning stove. A large sofa with a footrest provides the perfect place to unwind with a book, enjoy a film on the smart TV or settle into a board game on relaxed evenings. A big front window floods the living space with light, adding to the homely yet stylish feel.
The kitchen continues the theme of rustic elegance, with a Welsh slate sink set into vintage wooden furniture, a slate floor and plenty of freestanding antique pieces. Equipped with an electric double oven, four hobs, under-counter fridge with freezer section and a Sage Pro bean-to-cup coffee machine, it’s a practical and beautiful space to cook in. There’s also a dining table seating four, making it a great spot for sharing meals together.
Upstairs on the mezzanine, you’ll find a peaceful double bedroom where the zip-and-link bed can be set up as either a king size or two singles. Crisp linen and soft pillows ensure a restful night’s sleep, while the stylish ensuite-style bathroom sits just alongside, featuring pretty green tiles, a walk-in shower and eco-friendly toiletries. A double sofa bed downstairs provides an extra option for a child or teenager, making this a flexible retreat for small families as well as couples.
Outside your door, the Llanfendigaid Estate awaits. Enjoy dips in the heated indoor pool, challenge your companions to outdoor table tennis or wander through private woodland to find the hidden bench with breathtaking coastal views. The estate lies in the southern reaches of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, giving you easy access to hiking trails, rugged peaks and the Welsh Coastal Path. Beaches, harbours and welcoming local pubs are all within reach, making Workshop Cottage an idyllic base for coast and countryside adventures.
