Laneside House has character to spare and has been beautifully designed to reflect its history whilst also providing modern and luxurious comfort. It would be ideal for a large family or group of friends wanting to relax in a stunning, historic house in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
You'll arrive via a woodland track to find Laneside House nestled in its own charming garden surrounded by acres of farmland.
The kitchen is the perfect place to gather together for a welcome drink. A large space where the fully equipped modern kitchen with its marble topped island is separated by an arch from a huge dark wood dining table that seats 10. Light streams through the windows and exposed beams give the space a timeless feel. A wood burning stove ensures the room is cosy and welcoming.
Through the hall you'll find a very comfortable lounge with another wood burning stove where you can unwind in front of the TV on the corner sofa or gather everyone together for a movie night. Adjacent to this room is a snug that also has a corner sofa and a TV, as well as plenty of books should you wish to curl up and read or have a snooze. The ground floor is also home to a study with a third fireplace and a small four-seater table where you can catch up on work if you must, or forget about work and play a board game.
The hallway feels very old and its impressive black wooden staircase is something of a feature. Upstairs you'll find all five of the bedrooms, each with a king size bed. The first has a sleigh bed, wardrobe and dressing table, the second a single wardrobe. The master king has a wonderful black balcony overlooking the garden and the fields, and the last two at the far end share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a deep freestanding tub and shower over the bath. There is a second family bathroom on this floor which is elegantly tiled and modern with another freestanding tub and a double shower. All of the rooms have wonderful views and are simply decorated with classic pieces and warm cosy bedding.
After a peaceful night's sleep head downstairs, grab a coffee and head out into the garden. Pick one of two large patios - both have seating areas - and settle in to enjoy the morning view. When it comes to alfresco dining you have the choice of a large or smaller table and there is also a fire pit and BBQ for long lazy evenings under the stars.
The Forest of Bowland is a beautiful place to explore and you'll be a very short drive from the idyllic village of Bolton-by-Bowland where you can stock up on essentials at the village store or pop into the renowned Coach and Horses pub for a pint of real ale and some award winning food.
Gisburn Forest is close by, the incredible Yorkshire Dales are close as well and the Lake District is only an hour away by car. If you like a bustling market town you can pop to Clitheroe and Settle. After a day of exploring head back to Laneside House, light the fire pit and relax in the peaceful rural surroundings.
