Haybarton Cottage is a lovingly restored haystore that has been transformed into a quintessentially English holiday retreat. This award-winning cottage boasts stylish interiors and five acres of glorious shared private grounds, making it a sublime rural escape. Perfectly located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with the Jurassic coast within easy striking distance, it really delivers on all fronts.
Inside the cottage there’s a large comfortable lounge - complete with an impressive double-height beamed ceiling, cosy sofas and a wood burning stove. It lends itself to all seasons, being light and airy in summer and suitably cosy in the winter. With a well-stocked log basket and fabulous views out of the window, it’s a wonderfully welcoming room.
The kitchen is the stuff of farmhouse dreams, with a striking exposed brick wall, large refectory dining table and impressive Rangemaster oven. And the painted units, butler sink and tiled-floor all add to the charm. This large kitchen is every cook’s dream serving up great views, whilst you serve up a hearty supper.
There are three double en-suite bedrooms - two kingsize doubles on the first floor, and one twin room on the ground floor. All three are elegantly styled with luxurious linen, gorgeous textiles and lovely finishing touches. And the handsome views from each of them will have you relaxed in no time.
Outside there’s a pretty outdoor dining area and spectacular countryside surroundings. You’ll be pleased to hear that the cottage also comes with a charcoal Weber kettle BBQ, so you can cook and dine al-fresco in style.
The setting of Haybarton Cottage couldn’t be more idyllic with five acres of shared private grounds - feel free to wander, take a picnic or play on the swings. And as the grounds are only shared with one other cottage, it’ll be perfectly peaceful.
The location is perfect. Walkers can enjoy plentiful walks on the Blackdown Hills, whilst the Jurassic coast (and the South West Coast path) is just a twenty minute drive away. Closer to home, the local pub is a mere eight minute stroll away - serving up family meals and award winning beer from the local Otter brewery, it’s definitely worth investigating. And any foodie’s will be delighted that River Cottage HQ and Michael Caine’s Michelin star restaurant at Lympstone Manor are both within easy striking distance.
