The detail

Three Little Pigs is a luxury cottage in Dorset that was originally built in 1770 using cob and thatch. It is now an award-winning English Heritage Grade II Listed luxury holiday home that offers groups of up to six guests a fabulous place to enjoy their next rural retreat.

Located in the picturesque village of Milton Abbas, this cottage offers all of the joy of rural village life, with super-comfy furnishings, and everything you'll need for an enjoyable stay. The cottage was recently refurbished to combine the cosy cottage feel with an idyllic, luxury retreat. The property features exposed wooden beams, farmhouse fireplaces, and high ceilings, giving it a grand, rustic feel. Combine this with giant windows, and exposed brickwork walls, and you've got a beautifully contemporary space.

The open plan kitchen/diner is a marvellous room, with bulky oak beams and a giant wine cooler rack that covers an entire wall. The kitchen has modern appliances, including an induction hob, dishwasher, and a microwave. There's also a big dining table here, as well as a television and a Bose SoundTouch speaker system. The kitchen has a nice breakfast bar where you can sit with your Nespresso cappuccino or glass of wine keeping the designated chef company. Open up the bi-fold doors and step out onto the terrace where you can enjoy the sunshine long into the evening, whilst watching it set into the valley overlooking the thatch ridges and the church beyond.

The property also has a cosy living room, with super comfy sofas that sit opposite a grand, wood burning fireplace. This is a wonderful spot for enjoying a good book, or the company of loved ones long into the night. There are also all of the modern amenities of modern day on offer including a 48 inch LED TV, iMac, AppleTV, colour printer and a fibre optic internet connection!

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, all of which have super king sized beds that offer a great night's sleep. Two of the rooms share a grand family bathroom with a free-standing bath tub, whilst the third has its own en suite shower room. The bedrooms make use of Egyptian cotton sheets and towels, and super-soft down duvets for added luxury.

Step outside onto the front lawn and there's a bench where you can sit and enjoy meals in the sunshine whilst watching the world go by. The rear garden gets sun most of the day and has a dining set and gas-fired BBQ. For toddlers, steps going up into the garden can be fenced and there is gated street access.

Three Little Pigs sits in the quaint Dorset village of Milton Abbas. You have a delightful gastropub nearby called the Hambro Arms, that serves a range of local ales as well as excellent locally sourced food and a variety of fine wines. Lovers of the great outdoors will enjoy visiting the Jurassic Coast, which stretches across 95 miles of coast from Dorset to Devon. Head out and explore the marvellous beaches and clifftop walks that this part of the country has to offer and you won't be disappointed. You also have great access to the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, both of which offer a variety of scenic walking routes. History buffs will want to visit the one-thousand-year-old Corfe Castle that was built for King Henry I, William the Conqueror’s son!
