The Details

Burgh Hall is a stunning Grade II* listed property that blends timeless history with modern luxury. Recently renovated to an impeccable standard, this elegant retreat offers all the contemporary comforts you could wish for within the charm of a traditional building. Perfectly located just 10 minutes from Newmarket and 20 minutes from Cambridge, it’s an ideal base from which to explore the area. And, after a busy day out, you can retire back to your peaceful abode and unwind in grand social spaces or outside in your big, sprawling gardens.

When you arrive, you’ll love the opulent exterior of this huge home. The wow-factor continues when you step inside where you’ll find an abundance of old-world charm thanks to exposed wooden beams, inglenook stone fireplaces and deep, comfy furnishings. However, modern touches like underfloor heating and luxurious bathroom suites ensure your stay is as comfy as possible. Gather in one of the two reception rooms, which offer a lovely spot to enjoy a nice warm cup of tea or an evening drink as you catch up with loved ones. There’s also a gigantic conservatory that’s flooded with natural light and offers marvellous views of the garden. This is a fab place to sit and chat as you watch the kids play on the lawn.

When tummies rumble, head to the fabulous kitchen, which is nicely equipped with all the amenities you’ll need to whip up delicious feasts for your group. The kitchen is also bright and vibrant, making it a great place for budding chefs to work away as loved ones keep them company perched on barstools at the big kitchen island. When dinner’s ready, serve it up on the large dining table in the kitchen/dining space, or, dine alfresco in the fresh air on the spacious patio.

The garden at Burgh Hall is huge, offering plenty of space for kids to play or you to wander and explore. There’s some comfy outdoor seating for afternoon drinks, a giant lawn for games and a top-of-the-line BBQ for grilling up some delicious local produce on sunny days.

When night falls, Burgh Hall offers beautifully appointed sleeping arrangements designed for both comfort and character. The master bedroom features a sumptuous super-king bed and its own ensuite bathroom, creating a private sanctuary. Another spacious bedroom also boasts a super-king bed, while the four poster bedroom adds a touch of grandeur with an elegant empress size bed. Two further bedrooms are furnished with king size beds, ideal for couples or friends, and there is also a single bedroom, perfect for a child or solo guest. There are also some luxurious bathrooms at Burgh Hall, one of which features an opulent free-standing bathtub and the other a giant corner bath that both offer the ideal spot for an indulgent soak.

Perfectly placed for exploring three counties, Burgh Hall is a wonderful base to discover the best of Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk. Just 10 minutes away, Newmarket is home to the world-famous July Racecourse where you can enjoy Newmarket Nights and Summer Race Days, or take a behind-the-scenes tour of the National Stud. A short drive brings you to historic Cambridge, with its iconic colleges, punting on the River Cam and bustling markets. Suffolk offers charming villages, countryside walks and cosy pubs, while Norfolk beckons with its wide skies, coastline and nature reserves, making Burgh Hall an ideal hub for every adventure.
