Escape to the magical island that ancient Time forgot and uncover the mysterious secrets of the stunning Daufuskie coast. Nestled off South Carolina and reached only by boat, it is an untouched island full of timeless hope. Discover its deserted beaches and its deep, secluded forests, unearthing hidden trails and flourishing salt marshes. You can even say goodbye to bustling streets and busy roads as Daufuskie’s preferred mode of transport is an electric golf cart.
Beach Break Cottage is one of a cluster of about 20 homes and has an unrivalled position on its sparkling, forest coastline. Surrounded by thick, soaring treetops and sublime, sandy beaches, it peers through the tree trunks and out onto the sun-kissed ocean waters.
Behind its white beach hut exterior, the sea-view cottage blends old with new, and has a chic-provincial style that stays true to its roots. Its classic interiors have a breezy seaside vibe, and are adorned with soothing ocean hues and neutral coastal whites. Salvaged driftwood and woven wicker add to its natural charm, and are joined by vintage beach signs and locally, crafted art. Look out for the ocean-inspired sculptures and the shaped glassworks, along with the wildlife photographs and handmade ceramics.
Its expansive open-plan living area is beautifully furnished and has tranquil views out over the azure sea waters. Its sumptuous sofas radiate with the cosiness of home, while a fully-equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking up a storm. Step outside onto the private, sea-view porch and you’ll be able to listen to the lapping ocean waters just moments from your door. Two family bedrooms provide ample space for up to eight and have two double beds each with an adjoining en-suite.
You can explore the magnificent island, revelling in its natural landscapes and undiscovered silence. With only a few hundred residents living on Daufuskie, you can get to know the friendly locals and soak up the island culture. Understand its captivating story and its vibrant arts scene, stopping off at the Iron Fish Art Gallery or The Silver Dew Pottery studio.
