You’ll find pretty Lodge Cottage nestled in the popular Peak District town of Castleton. Sleeping nine guests, this 15th century home boasts an abundance of period features and carefully curated touches. Inside, the elegant blend of vintage furnishings with modern décor provides a welcoming, cosy space for relaxing, socialising or just to return to at the end of a long day’s exploring.
The sumptuous lounge, with its wooden beams, comfortable sofas, impressive stone fireplace with woodburning stove and soothing, earthy colour palette, provides a serene sanctuary in which to unwind. There is also an Smart TV and WiFi to keep you connected.
The parquet floored dining area features an expansive, rustic dining table and chairs, and a further woodburning stove to ensure cosy candlelit meals and sociable evenings enjoying an after-dinner coffee.
You’ll find the modern, well-equipped kitchen oozes country charm and provides everything you need to rustle up a family feast, including an oven, grill, gas hob, toaster, microwave and fridge/freezer. There's also a dishwasher and a washer/dryer for added convenience.
The four double bedrooms and one single bedroom all feature generous storage and have been individually designed with their own unique style. French antiques add additional charm to the ambience and thick mattresses with high quality linens are standard for your comfort. A relaxing night’s sleep is virtually guaranteed.
There are two modern bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower and one with a full-size tub, depending on your mood, plus a convenient downstairs cloakroom, each of which are supplied with eco-friendly vegan toiletries to ensure you can pamper yourself guilt-free.
At the rear of the home, you’ll find a pretty cottage garden and enclosed courtyard containing a bistro dining set and comfy lounge furniture. A perfect spot to chill out with a bottle of wine, especially in the evenings once the mood lighting is on providing a magical ambience.
You will find the pubs, cafes and shops of the lovely town of Castleton less than two minutes’ walk away and both Manchester and Sheffield are within easy reach should you fancy some retail therapy or cultural pursuits. And of course, the delights of the Peak District are on your doorstep.
