Three beautifully renovated cottages that mix country charm with luxurious living for up to 26 guests in the heart of the Peak District
Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by The Star, three deceptively spacious cottages in the beautiful village of Taddington, near Buxton.
From the outside the properties looks like a row of traditional Derbyshire stone cottages, but once inside you will see they have been creatively and stylishly renovated to offer flexible living for up to 26 guests.
Steeped with history these three adjoining cottages all have their own story, with Star House a former public house and the smaller cottage dating back to 1750 as the village's 'Oddfellows Meeting Room'.
There are nine bedrooms in total, with a mixture of doubles, twin and bunk beds to cater for groups of all different shapes and sizes. Star House has five bedrooms, three with ensuite, while the other two properties have two bedrooms apiece, each with either an ensuite or private bathroom.
Each cottage also has its own kitchen and separate dining space so guests can enjoy a variety of different options. The largest kitchen is in Star House, which opens out into the impressive sunken conservatory. This amazing hexagonal focal point has a glass ceiling and has flexible dining space for up to 24 guests.
The communal living area is also in Star House, which mixes country charm with luxurious living in the heart of the building. Comfy sofas sit in front of an original stone fireplace and log burner, while the inter conservatory flows into the games room with traditional bar billiards table.
The other two cottages also have separate living spaces as well to ensure there are plenty of options and there is WiFi throughout.
From the hexagonal conservatory you can then head out onto the patio and into the stunning shared garden. Landscaped on different levels there is a private patio for alfresco dining, a large barbecue and picnic benches and private parking for up to 15 cars.
Taddington itself sits conveniently between the market town of Bakewell and the spa town of Buxton. The latter is a 10-minute drive away and offers the historic Opera House and Pavilion Gardens.
The property is also perfectly located for exploring the White Peak area of the Peak District, ideal for walking, cycling, or even abseiling from the viaduct at Millers Dale.
