Set on a wooded hill outside a Buckinghamshire village, West End Farmhouse is a dreamy country hideaway. Nestled in nearly two acres of re-wilded land, there is a unique wood fired hot tub, a 15 metre natural swimming pool, plus a laid-back and comfortable five bedroom farmhouse - and all just a short hop from London.
West End Farmhouse is a warm and welcoming property, where inside meets outside amid wildlife-filled gardens and far-reaching views. The interior is that of a warm family home and its artistic owners have filled it with quiet understated luxury. Chill out in the playroom watching a film on the home cinema, read in the sitting room in front of the fire, or make the most of the dining room /snug with its gorgeous morning sunlight.
Upstairs, there are four bedrooms on the first floor - each room has a different character, but they all have amazing views. The master bedroom comes with en suite rainfall shower. The fifth bedroom is on the second floor with its own luxurious bathroom and bathtub. The sloped ceilings make it a romantic hideaway better suited to those under six foot. There is a further study bedroom that can be fitted out with single roll-out beds if required.
Outside, the garden could fill a holiday just on its own. The natural swimming pool is home to all sorts of wonderful nature, and once you have tried it, you won’t be a able to return to a conventional Chlorine pool. After a wild swim in the pool, warm up in the unique wood fired hot tub (which began life as a cattle feeder). As evening comes, light up the BBQ and enjoy drinks on the deck while gazing at dark starry skies that shouldn’t be possible so close to London.
The garden is entirely dog and child friendly - just watch out for the nettles. There are gates and climb-proof hedging to ensure both pets and children can be safely kept away from the swimming pond. When you are not swimming, there is a huge space for football or cricket, climbing ropes, a basket ball hoop and a sunken trampoline, so children big and small can stay entertained.
West End Farmhouse is set on the borders of Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, just 10 mins from the foodie haven of Tring with many local wonderful restaurants and pubs - you can find anything from Michelin and Masterchef to homemade cake and coffee. It's a rural area with London links, the trains from Cheddington and Wendover whisk you into different parts of the city, meaning that West End Farmhouse makes the perfect easy escape to the countryside.
