The Detail...
Hugging an ancient ash tree in the beautiful Ochil Hills region of central Scotland sits Tree Howf. This one-of-a-kind tree house boasts panoramic views of a truly beautiful and tranquil part of the world, making this the perfect retreat for those seeking some well-earned peace and quiet. The owners have considerately constructed this countryside gem, with sustainability and guest comfort at the forefront. Well-equipped, wonderfully located, and uniquely designed, this truly is a couple's retreat like no other.
Sitting on the edge of its own small piece of farmland, the Tree Howf is as well made as it is quirky. Beautifully designed, the exterior of this treehouse is just as striking as the interior, with its slanting roof and mini spires. The bright and airy interior is surprisingly spacious, with exposed framing and timber beams giving it a rustic definition.
Tree Howf comes complete with wood burning stove and oven, a two-ring gas hob, antique Belfast sink, and kitchen utensils. The focal point of the living space is the handmade king size bed and its large starlight, perfect for gazing at the unspoiled nighttime sky. There is also an indoor shower and adjacent hand basin - both with hot running water. An eco-friendly compost toilet can be found downstairs. Guest can also step outside onto the viewing platform and enjoy the stunning countryside view. The platform boasts a table and chairs, making it the perfect spot to enjoy some al fresco dining or a glass of wine in the evening as you wave hello to the friendly neighbours (goats and sheep).
The undulating Ochil Hills provide some of the most stunning scenery that Scotland has to offer. Popular with walkers and outdoor enthusiasts, the area boasts numerous scenic walking trails and hikes. The famed Scottish Highlands are also but a short drive to the north. Those of a more urban inclination will not be stuck for things to do either. The city of Perth is a 30-minute drive to the north east, while the historic market town of Stirling is half that to the south - the latter is famed for its castle. Venture further south for easy access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh (45 minutes and one hour by car respectively). Both busy metropolises offer a range of cultural pursuits, including museums, theatres, restaurants, bustling shopping districts, and thriving nightlife.
