This wonderfully light and spacious studio is nestled comfortably within a beautifully converted church. Eclectic, modern interiors sit happily amongst the celestial features - think stone arches and large ornate windows. And with a big wood burning stove at its heart, it’s a truly divine space.
Set in the rolling countryside of Somerset there’s loads to do, from excellent walking in the Mendips to relaxed mooching around the elegant city of Bath or the independently-minded town of Frome.
Guests enter into the modern, elegant kitchen and pass through the an exquisite stone arch into the main living space. The well-equipped kitchen and handsome worktops make it a space fit for a chef - or you can take a seat at the retro dining table and opt to keep whoever is preparing your meal company.
The lounge area, with its brightly coloured cushions, is the epitome of both comfort and style. Nestle down in front of the marvellous wood burning stove and relax after a day out exploring the surrounding countryside.
The bedroom is part of the main space and houses the most beautiful stone framed window. Art on the walls and the gorgeously understated finer details make for an effortlessly relaxed space. Next door there is sleek bathroom with a modern walk-in shower. And, you’ll be pleased to hear, there’s underfloor heating throughout the main part of the apartment, excluding the bathroom, where there is a separate heater.
Outside there is a lovely patio area and a peaceful garden for you to enjoy. Set in the grounds of this fabulous church, gardens don’t get much prettier. And with such tranquil setting, you're able to rest and relax in style.
In the local area there is loads to explore. The picture-perfect cities of Wells and Bath are within easy striking distance. Other lovely places to visit, that are also within reach include the marvellous Cheddar Gorge, world-famous Glastonbury, the wonderfully fun and vibrant city of Bristol, and Longleat Safari Park.

Leave a reviewA beautiful studio in this converted church. Very well equipped and tastefully furnished. Excellent communication from Christine on booking and arrival. The tasty baked treats were much appreciated. The owners live next door and on hand if you need anything and completely unobtrusive. Quiet location and great for exploring the area with historic Bath only a few miles away. We parked in the railway station car park without any issues on a Sunday. I’d highly recommend staying here we’ve always wanted to stay in a converted church and thought this a perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thank you for everything

What a beautiful place. Very clean, a great central base for everywhere we wanted to visit and the hosts were so friendly and helpful. Attentive, but happy to leave us to our own devices at the same time. They left us fruit, orange juice, milk, herbs and made us the most delicious lemon drizzle cake. Lovely little touches such as fresh, handpicked flowers in vases. All the cleaning products and toiletries provided were cruelty free, which is a massive thumbs up. Thanks again for having us. Will definitely return one day.

A lovely 4 night long weekend at The Studio. It was a great base for us to explore Wells, Cheddar, Wookey Hole and Bath. Christine was really welcoming and the basket of goodies left for us was lovely - especially the delicious Lemon Drizzle Cake! The location is fantastic, so peaceful, yet convenient to travel to / from. The Studio is so well appointed, with everything (and more!) you could want from a kitchen, a super comfy bed and an immaculately presented living space. The little courtyard garden is beautiful. This is a real gem of a property and absolutely recommended if you want a few nights in Somerset with easy access to all the popular places to go!

Just returned from a lovely 4 night stay in this unique property. The Studio was bigger than we expected, and was so peaceful and relaxing. Christine was extremely helpful and left us some lovely goodies; the brownies were delicious! The kitchen was very well equipped and the fresh herbs were a nice touch. We visited Wells Cathedral (stunning) and Cheddar Gorge; make sure you have cash for the car parking as they don’t take cards! Highly recommend this property for a nice chill out. Thank you!

What a wonderful experience! Christine is absolutely fantastic - we stayed for 2 nights as a surprise for my partners birthday and she went above and beyond for us. I asked Christine to get some balloons for the room ready for our arrival and she did! They were displayed beautifully! I also made her aware of my gluten intolerance and on arrival there was a beautiful display of home made gluten free brow bites which were AMAZING! Also milk and orange juice in the fridge ready for breakfast. The place itself was beautiful and so clean. The under floor heating made sure it was always super warm and the interior of the studio was very well done. The fireplace was our favourite - we toasted marshmallows both nights which was lovely. We cooked dinner one night and there were more than enough supplies to do so. Everything you could possibly need is available, even a booklet explaining where all local amenities are. I'd highly recommend this place and would definitely visit again. Thank you!

This place completely surpassed are expectation! Stunning just doesn't do it justice. Christine was welcoming and met every requested with a world of knowledge about things to do and eatarys in the area. The accommodation itself was exceptional. We couldn't fault a thing. The extra touches like fresh milk and juice in the fridge, a welcome basket with fresh baked cookies and other bites to eat were not needed but very much appreciated. A fabulous find that I would recommend to any one with a price tag to git even the smallest budget. Beautifully outstanding!!!

Me and my partner recently stayed here for 5 nights and it definitely wasn't enough time! The place is beautifully done with exceptional attention to detail (the fresh flowers dotted around were lovely!) the kitchen had everything you could possibly need which made cooking very enjoyable. The board games and books really brought some life to the cool nights, with a roaring fire and a glass of wine! And last but not least.. The cookies. The cookies that were ready waiting for out arrival were divine, Christine really is an amazing host! We would come back here in a heartbeat! Stunning property and very helpful hosts.

We have just spend a great week at The Studio in Somerset. Unique architecture coupled with all modern conveniences including an exceptionally equipped kitchen. Immaculately presented and conveniently located for exploring all that Somerset has to offer - including Bath, Glastonbury, Wells, Frome and of course the coastline. Would highly recommend a stay at The Studio - we loved it.

The Studio is a hidden gem. Sat on a hill in a small village in the Somerset countryside. It is equipped perfectly for those who like to cook indoors and Christine provided some little extras and details that make you feel right at home and add to the experience. The modern refurbishment on this classical building is very special and with a beautiful garden full of plants and flowers, made a fantastic setting for our engagement! Perfectly located to venture into Bath, Wells, Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury - trips which we fit into our 4 night stay and allowed enough time to relax and enjoy the studio. We have already recommended this to several people and wouldn't hesitate to visit again in the future. 5*

A home away from home - everything you need is provided. The Studio was perfect for a low-key break in a peaceful location, but still easy to get around to places nearby. Christine was a really considerate host and made sure I had everything I needed. Highly recommended!

I have just spend an idyllic long weekend at The Studio, just outside Bath. It is immaculate, spacious and extremely comfortable, and the kitchen is the best equipped I've ever seen for self catering. The deconsacrated church has been amazingly and thoughtfully converted by Christine and husband Don, who were fantastic hosts - providing home made muffins and biscuits on arrival. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were first class. It's a great place to base yourself for exploring World Heritage site, Bath. And it's not that far from Cheddar Gorge, Stonehenge or the Cotswolds - but the walks locally are great too. I shall certainly return.
