This luxurious hideaway for two offers complete seclusion in a stunning setting.
Orchardleigh Boathouse could hardly have a more romantic location. Hidden in the woods on the bank of a 35-acre lake, the elegant architecture complements the surroundings perfectly. Inside, you’ll find a cosy studio, with a fully-equipped kitchen and separate bathroom. Wake up in the mornings in the luxurious bed and watch the mist rise from the lake from the comfort of your pillow, through the full length windows.
Make yourselves a delicious cooked breakfast in the traditional-style kitchen with its pretty painted cabinets, with the help of a range of modern, high end appliances. There’s a dining table in front of the full length window or you can take your meals outside on the terrace and take full advantage of those views. An open fireplace is set in an exposed brick wall to keep you cosy in the evenings. Settle down on the comfy sofa in front of a roaring fire and completely unwind. Next door, the modern bathroom is beautifully tiled and features a luxurious waterfall shower and twin sinks. Bath robes, soft towels and toiletries are all provided for you.
Outside, a private terrace overlooks the lake with garden furniture for alfresco dining, with a hot tub perfectly positioned to enjoy the view. Stayed in the boathouse for two nights and it was absolutely stunning. Secluded, romantic, staggering, beautiful are just a few of the words I’d use to describe our stay. The whole estate itself is beautiful and wonderful to walk around and the staff can’t do enough for you; not that you see them as you’re so private. If I had to criticise anything at all, it’s that the room itself could do with a bit of touching up and a repaint. The curtains need replacing, as do the kitchen doors, the hottub needs a little bit of love (and maybe some news glasses and crockery), but the views and veranda more than make up for those things. Would absolutely stay again and was sad to leave!
